Practical Workshop
Practical Workshop
The practical workshop is a hands-on workshop designed for students and early career researchers aiming to get beginner or early experience with using VR for pain applications.
The workshops take place over two afternoons (Mon 12th and Tues 13th), lasting around 3 hours each day. We will have a number of VR sets and will go through some of the basics. Day 1 will be an overview of hardware and software set-ups, including typically systems and the basics of coding in Unity. Day 2 will look at how one can integrate this within experiments, such as how to link-up with pain stimulators or other recording systems (such as EEG).
The workshops will be a mixture of stations and short presentations/demonstrations, designed around the experience level of the participants, from absolute beginner upwards. It is intended for those with a clear research interest in pain VR.
Because places are limited, we may need to select the most appropriate participants, and therefore we ask that those who want to attend include a short statement of interest outlining why they would like to attend and how it will help their research.
The deadline for the application is 21st November Monday 5pm (GMT).
We aim to inform applicants whether or not they were successful by 25th November. Practical workshop attendees are provided with accommodation, and will attend the talks in the morning, and the conference dinner.
Attending the practical workshop is a great way to learn and share experience, and network with colleagues from around the UK.
