We run shifts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays every week during University of Oxford Term time. 

We serve three main functions:

• To bring hot drinks and food to those sleeping rough in central Oxford

• To provide good company and being a caring listener for those facing a difficult situation, aiming to reduce loneliness and brighten someone’s evening a little!

• To bridge the divide between students and the homeless community

We would love to have you on board! There is no formal application or training process, but our Overview Document will give you an idea of how we run. Once you have read this through, you can read the Health and Safety guidelines. See the 'Volunteer with Us' page for all the information you will need.

Food Rescuers is a student society which aims to tackle food waste and poverty in Central Oxford by distributing leftover food from institutions directly to the homeless community. 

We are eager to expand our project and are looking to work with food catering businesses (such as cafes and colleges) and homeless shelters in the city centre.

WHY: Because we care. Everyone deserves a hot meal.
