Arrival and departure times
Arrival on Sunday 17th September: For those wanting to participate in the Oxford tour we recommend aiming to arrive by 3pm; for those not on the tour we recommend arriving by 6pm in time for registration and a welcome reception.
Departure on Wednesday 20th September: The last session will finish by 12:30pm, following which lunch will be provided.
Travelling to Oxford

When planning the itinerary note that the station code for the Oxford Railway Station is OXF, and the central bus station is Oxford Gloucester Green.
Local taxi companies offer fixed-price transfer to and from all nearby airports. See 001 Taxis and Royal Cars for more information and contact details.
For journeys through London using a combination of rail and London Underground services make sure that the train ticket type you have is valid for travel on London public transport zones.
Travelling from central London:
Train services into Oxford run from London Paddington (PAD) (1 hour) and London Marylebone (MYB) (1.5 hour) stations.
Oxford Tube bus service runs 24/7 from London Victoria station, with several stops in central London. (2 hour journey time).
Travelling from Heathrow airport (the most convenient of the London airports for travel to Oxford)
Recommended: The Airline and National Express bus services run regularly between the airport and Oxford (1.5 hour journey time)
Trains and London Underground services run to central London stations (e.g. Paddington) where a connection to Oxford trains can be made.
Alternatively, train and Elizabeth line (requires changing trains at Hayes & Harlington) services to Reading offer a rail connection to Oxford.
Travelling from Gatwick airport:
The Airline bus service runs between the airport and Oxford (3 hour journey time).
Trains run to central London stations (e.g. Farringdon, Victoria...) where a connection to Oxford trains from Paddington/Marylebone stations can be made using the London Underground network (around 2.5 hour journey time).
Travelling from Stansted airport:
National Express bus 737 runs between the airport and Oxford (note: the trip takes 4-5 hours).
Trains run to central London stations (e.g. Liverpool Street...) where a connection to Oxford trains from Paddington/Marylebone stations can be made using the London Underground network (around 2.5 - 3 hour total journey time, but also note that the trains might not be operating at times suitable for early morning or late evening flights).
Travelling from Luton airport:
National Express bus 737 runs between the airport and Oxford (2 hour journey time but infrequent).
Trains from Luton Airport Parkway (4 mins by shuttle train or 15 min walk from airport) run to central London stations (e.g. Farringdon, King's Cross...) where a connection to Oxford trains from Paddington/Marylebone stations can be made using the London Underground network (total journey time 2.5 - 3 hours).
Travelling from Birmingham airport:
National Express bus 210 runs between the airport and Oxford (only 1.5 hour journey time but rather infrequent)
Trains to Oxford run from Birmingham International station (adjacent to the airport). (Also around 1.5 hour journey time but more frequent)
Travelling from London City airport:
A combination of DLR (Docklands Light Railway) and London Underground services can be taken to London Paddington or London Marylebone, where the trains to Oxford can be caught.
Transportation in Oxford
Magdalen college is 15 minute walk from Oxford Bus Station and a 20 minute walk from the train station.
