"My perspective on leadership was permanently reshaped by a moment of total failure. While balancing the demands of being a student-athlete and building my recovery brand, ABLE, I fell into the trap of saying 'yes' to everyone except myself. This lack of boundaries all added up into a car accident—a direct result of admitting to peer pressure and failing to prioritize the safety and responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel. Sitting in the aftermath of that crash, I didn't just see a damaged vehicle or a suspended license; I saw the high cost of staying silent when I should have stood firm. I realized that if a student-athlete with clear goals could be swayed by the 'noise' of the moment, then thousands of other teens were likely struggling with the same weight.
I chose to transform that $236 setback and the weight of my own accountability into a platform for social change. I launched Own Your No, a digital movement designed to give teenagers a voice before they hit a breaking point. By integrating a live-tracking database to measure real-time pledges of independence, I am turning a personal event of misjudgment into a measurable social impact initiative. My mission is to bridge the gap between the physical recovery we champion at ABLE and the mental resilience required to lead an uninfluenced life. I am not just building products; I am building the starting point for a generation to reclaim their consciousness, proving that the most important thing an entrepreneur can own is their integrity."
