Dr. Magda Talib al Hinai

Sultan Qaboos University, Oman

Dr. Magda Talib al Hinai is a Faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. She is a Chair of Oman Mathematics Committee. She acted as the founder director of the independent learning center and a director general of the specialized institute for professional training of teachers, Ministry of Education.

Dr. Lama Tarsissi

Sorbonne University, Abu Dhabi, UAE


Dr. Lama Tarsissi is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and a collaborator with the project Sorbonne Center for Artificial Intelligence - SCAI. She is an associate researcher in Computer sciences at the University of Gustave Eiffel. She holds a PhD degree in Mathematics and Computer science from the University Savoie Mont Blanc, France. In 2017, she became the ambassador to Lebanon at the Committee of Women in Mathematics (CWM) and since her arrival to UAE, she also became the ambassador to UAE in this committee.

Dr. Neena Gupta

Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India


Dr. Neena Gupta, a professor and mathematician at the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata, India has been awarded the 2021 DST-ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians from developing countries for her outstanding work in affine algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. Prof Gupta is the third woman to receive the prestigious Ramanujan. The Ramanujan Prize committee, comprised of eminent mathematicians from around the world, praised Gupta and said that her work “shows impressive algebraic skill and inventiveness,” In 2019, Gupta was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology. In 2015, she received the Swarna Jayanti fellowship award, from Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. She had provided the solution to the Zariski cancellation problem, which earned her the 2014 Young Scientists Award of the INSA. The Indian National Science Academy described her solution as "one of the best works in algebraic geometry in recent years done anywhere".

Ms. Noor Diyana Jasme

Qatar University, Qatar


Ms. Noor Diyana Jasme received her MS in Actuarial Science, City University London, UK and has been teaching at Qatar University since 2020 . She has been heavily involved in the development of Actuarial Programs for Qatar University, Taylor’s University and UCSI University. The programs have received recognition from professional bodies internationally. Prior to joining the education field, she was attached with various consulting companies such as KPMG and KASI where she contributed to projects such as national cybersecurity and the development of oil and gas platforms and port development. Currently, she is pursuing Ph.D. in Islamic Finance, INCEIF, Malaysia. Her research interests include actuarial science, long-term actuarial mathematics, financial risk management, Islamic finance and takaful.

Dr. Hanefa Al Qasmi

University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Suhar, Oman

Dr. Hanefa Al Qasmi is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and an Assistant Dean for Academic Support Affairs at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Suhar, Oman. She earned two Masters, one in Curriculum and Teaching Methods of Mathematics Education from Sultan Qaboos University, Oman and other Master of Science-mathematics and Computational Science from the University of Manchester in UK. She completed her PhD. from the University of Manchester, UK. Her research focuses on Applied Numerical Computing: Model reduction for linear system. She has served as the Head of governance team in the Management and Governance Committee and a member of Strategic Plan Main Committee (Integration Process of the UTAS), HoD of the General Requirement Department, head of the Health and Safety Committee and head of the Nutrition Committee at UTAS-Suhar. Also, a member in the main committee of quality assurance and a member in the Academic committee at UTAS-Suhar. She is Certified Quality and Organizational Excellence Expert (American Institute of professional Studies) and a Strategic planning and KPI practitioner (Global performance Management Academy).

Dr. Maimouna said Al Manthari

University of Technology and Applied Sciences- Ibri, Oman

Dr. Maimouna said Al Manthari is an Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences- Ibri, Oman. She completed her master’s in Applied Mathematics from Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. She earned her PhD. In Mechanical Engineering from Swansea University, UK. She has publications in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, and she also attended many conferences in both the fields. She published a book titled “Numerical Study of Fluid Solid Interaction in 2D and 3D Geometries: Application of OpenFOAM Technology in Two- and Three-Dimensional Benchmarking Model Problems”

Dr. Yaqoob Mubarak Al Rahbi

International Maritime College, Oman

Dr. Yaqoob Mubarak Al Rahbi is an Assistant Professor, currently working in the International Maritime College, Oman. He completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics from Sultan Qaboos University, Oman and Ph.D. degree from Glasgow Caledonian University. His research interest is reliability and availability analysis modeling prey-predator interaction with switching strategy on modeling and simulations. He is a qualified professional with many years of experience in curriculum, teaching Engineering Mathematics Modules under different institutions in Oman His area of expertise is teaching, administration/coordination, research & development, curriculum design & management, strategic planning, and reviewing research papers. He is a member of different professional bodies such as the international journal of systems assurance engineering and management (IJSA), society for reliability engineering, quality, and operations management, and industry advisory and practice committee, national university of science & technology, Oman. He published many scientific research papers through different journals and conferences and participated in many conferences, workshops, and meetings. He reviewed many research papers and MSc thesis and an external examiner in reliability filed. He also has many social contributions in delivering lessons to preparatory and secondary school students. Provided training sessions to headmasters in preparation for the change to Basic Education.

Dr. Fatma Al Maqbali

Dr. Fatma Abdullah Al Maqbali, PhD in Information Security, academic and researcher at UTAS-Suhar. She is Head of Cyber and Information Security major-University Level and Head of IT Security major-UTAS Suhar. She is in charge of wellbeing office -UTAS Suhar and certified mental health first aider-MHFA, UK.

Dr. Kawthar Alajmi

University of Technology & Applied Sciences-Shinas

Oman

Dr. Kawthar Alajmi is a lecturer at the University of Technology & Applied Sciences-Shinas in the Math section. She completed her PhD is in epidemiology and medical statistics particularly in developing risk prediction models for a specific disease. She worked with the UK biobank and developed a breast cancer risk prediction model for the UK females. Her research interests are Biostatistics, epidemiology, risk models, risk prediction, cancers, chronic diseases and mendelian randomization.

Dr. Ghanim Al-Hasani

University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Suhar, Oman

Dr. Ghanim Al-Hasani is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Suhar, Oman. He earned his PhD. in Mathematics from the Staffordshire university, UK. He is a fellow in Advance Higher Education, UK. He is also an active member of Oman UK alumni network.

Dr. Özen ÖZER

Kırklareli University, Turkey

Dr. Özen ÖZER received her PhD degree in Mathematics from Süleyman Demirel University, Isparta (Turkey). Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science and Arts at the Kırklareli University, Turkey. She has published more than 75 research papers in high quality international journals and engaged in many national and international scientific projects. She also has written/published some books and book chapters on Number Theory, Algebra, Applied Mathematics and Analysis for the international publishing houses. She delivered talks as an invited speaker in many national and international conferences. She is associated with more than sixty-five publishing houses and journals as an editorial board member.

Dr. Rajnder Sharma

University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Suhar, Oman

Dr. Rajinder Sharma is working as a faculty of Mathematics at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Suhar, Oman. His research focuses on Non-Linear Analysis, FPT & its applications, and Mathematical Modeling. Currently, he is working on AI Approaches to Robotic Path-Planning for Autonomous vehicles. After joining UTAS-Suhar in 2011, he had more than 30 articles in his credit with UTAS- Suhar affiliation in peer-reviewed Indexed International Journals published from USA, Italy, Jordan, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Spain, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Indonesia, UK, and Romania. He served as the main editor in the book titled An In-depth Guide to Fixed Point Theorems. Most recently, an Australian Patent has been granted to him along with other collaborators. He acted as a reviewer for many peer-reviewed Scopus and WoS-indexed International Mathematical Journals. He also acted as a reviewer for many Indexing entities. Additionally, he acted as an external examiner for Masters's and Ph.D. thesis to different universities. He is a country representative of IMMC. He actively participated in Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings exercises in 2021 and 2022 respectively. He is an associate as well as a life member of many scientific bodies.

Dr. Dhana Kumari Thapa

Tribhuvan University, Nepal

Dr. Dhana Kumari Thapa, an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Padma kanya Multiple Campus of Tribhuvan University (TU) for 21 years. Besides teaching she has been involved in research projects, organizing national and international conferences and research schools in Mathematics at TU. She acted as Head of department from 2003-2006 and a member of Mathematics Subject Committee of Institute of Science and Technology of TU. She has published research articles in the local journal and written mathematics course books for grade XI and XII students. She served as an executive member 2003- 2006 and joint-secretary from 2006-2009 of the Nepal Mathematical Society (NMS). She is founding- Secretary of Women of Nepal in Mathematical Sciences (WoNiMS), established in 2013. She as ambassador to IMU-CWM for Nepal is actively involved in encouraging and facilitating women mathematicians and girl students in teaching, learning and research in Mathematics.

Dr. Geetha Venkataraman

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi, India


Dr. Geetha Venkataraman is a Professor of Mathematics at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD), India. She earned her master’s and a DPhil from the University of Oxford and published many books. She has served as Dean, Research and Consultancy, Dean Assessment Evaluation and Student Progression, Dean School of Undergraduate Studies and as Chairperson (elected) of the Committee for Prevention of Sexual Harassment at AUD. Apart from her interest in Group Theory and related areas, she is deeply interested in popularizing mathematics, mathematics education and issues related to women in mathematics, women in leadership in academia. Geetha is one of the 5 CWM-IMU ambassadors from India and is a member of the Executive Committee of IWM (Indian Women and Mathematics). She was one of six people chosen to be a panelist in the panel discussion titled Girls in Mathematics: Reflections and Initiatives’ to be held as part of the World Meeting of Women in Mathematics (WM)2 2022, prior to the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2022.

Dr. Salma Parvin

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh


Dr. Salma Parvin is Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Her research interests include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Nanofluids Flow Modelling, Numerical Heat Transfer, Magnetohydrodynamics and Quantum Mechanics. She has published 71 research papers in recognized and refereed journals/proceedings and 76 conference papers. She has visited many countries that include Canada, India, Italy, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, USA etc. Dr. Parvin is member of many learned societies in Bangladesh. She has been serving national and international scientific duties like organizing Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad in national level and international conference, reviewing manuscripts of many international journals and conferences. She is working as the president of Association of Bangladeshi Women in Mathematics (ABWM). She has been chosen as the CWM (Committee for Women in Mathematics of IMU) Ambassador for Bangladesh to promote international contacts between organizations for women and mathematics and to undertake other related activities.

Dr. Aysha Bibi

Dr. Aysha Bibi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan. She completed her MSc and M.Phil. from Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad in Applied Mathematics and received her PhD. degree in Optical Engineering from Harbin Engineering University China. Her research interests include Waves motion, Boundary Value Problems, FEM, Waveguide Engineering, and Integrated Optics.

Dr. Jyoti U. Devkota

Kathmandu University, Nepal

Dr. Jyoti U. Devkota is a Professor of Statistics, in the Department of Mathematics, Kathmandu University, Nepal. Her research focus is on development of mathematical techniques for Data Generation, Data Correction and Rectification, Data Analysis and Data Prediction. She completed Bachelors (Honours) and master’s in Mathematical Statistics from Lady Shriram College, New Delhi India. She completed her PhD. from the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Osnabrueck, Germany, with DAAD fellowship. She has a teaching experience of more than 25 years at this university. She has over 30 first authored publications in international peer reviewed journals. She has served as the Head of the Department of Natural Sciences, Kathmandu University. She has presented papers in several national and international conferences. Jyoti U Devkota has also written three books on Statistics and Data Analysis.

Dr. Yashika is working as a faculty of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She earned Master of Science from Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland and She is holding a PhD from University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Her research is focused on mathematical modeling and mathematical epidemiology.

Dr. Mussab Z. Aswad is a VP at NVTC, Bahrain and holds a PhD in Information Communication Technology from De Montfort University, United Kingdom. He acted as Director in Information Technology and Knowledge Management center at Applied Science University, Bahrain. He is co-founder of AswadWeb ICT & Software Solutions and the founder of the HallBooking.net platform. He was awarded four local and international awards. His research interests include, but are not limited to, computer science, machine learning, deep learning, intelligent transportation systems, context-aware systems, and smart cities.
