Olathe West opened in the fall of 2017, the fifth high school within the Olathe School District, designed using architecturally advanced techniques to create an innovative and futuristic learning environment for our students. The Olathe West Dance Team was started in 2017. 

The Westside Dance Team is made up of Varsity and Junior Varsity dancers.  These dedicated dancers practice approximately 10 hours a week and attend dance camp, band camp, and various competitions throughout the year. Their season lasts all year long. The Dance team performs at pep assemblies, homecoming events, football/ basketball games, regional/national dance competitions, and their annual Spring Show. 

These dancers also serve as the Color Guard for the Olathe West Marching Band.
