Finding Books in the Stacks or Electronic Versions in our School Libraries and NC Library system.

• Select the name of your student's school

• Use the catalog button at the top of the screen to search by keyword, title, author, subject, or series

Student's Rights to Read thru the Digital Library and Paren'ts Rights to Know/Permit

• Find digital books in the Buncombe County Schools collection and in the North Carolina Digital Library with SORA, which is in Clever,  accessed in your IAM dashboard.

• Sora is the software used by Buncombe County Schools to curate and filter to the appropriate age group the library materials available.  When using the North Carolina Digital Library through a school account, students will be filtered to the appropriate age group to which their enrollment aligns.

• Access to The North Carolina Digital Public Library books and other resources requires an "OPT IN" for each school year.  According to our counties interpretation of the NC Parent's Bill of Rights.  Some systems operate via OPT out, ours is an OPT IN system every year.  If you want your child to access to digital resouces, you must opt in.  Look for the information at the beginning of each school year.  The window for submitting the OPT in usually expires in the fall.
