Dr. Hsin-Tze Lu is currently an Assistant Professor in the International College of Innovation at National Chengchi University, specializing in the Data Analytics track. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Central University, Taiwan.
From 2010 to 2020, Dr. Lu served as Deputy Director at the Institute for Information Industry (III), where he was the principal investigator for several key government-funded projects under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, including the "Big Data Innovation Technologies and Smart Applications Project" and the "Next-Generation IoT Key Technologies and System Refinement Project." The large-scale software systems developed under his leadership were successfully transferred to companies such as Advantech, China Steel Corporation, and Inventec, and also won a Gold Award in the Manufacturing category at the international APICTA Awards. From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Lu served at National Pingtung University as Deputy Executive Director of the AI and Digital Transformation Center and Director of the Innovation and Incubation Center under the Office of Research and Development. During this time, he supported numerous local enterprises in achieving industrial upgrading through information technology.
Dr. Lu is an active researcher in two key areas: learning analytics in education and the application of artificial intelligence in industry. In the field of learning analytics, he has been promoting the LBLS dataset since 2019 and has actively participated in conferences such as TWELF, ICCE, and LAK, with publications in journals including Computers & Education and Educational Technology & Society. In the field of AI applications, Dr. Lu has engaged in collaborative projects with various industry partners over the past five years, including Advantech (2019), National Center for High-Performance Computing (2020), China Steel Corporation (2020–2021), Wistron (2021), III (2019–2023), Applied Materials (2021–2024), Wanin (2023–2024), and Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (2023–2024).
