OverPsych stores data in individual Sessions. Each Session stores observation data separately, and they can be managed on the Sessions screen. Swipe to the right to delete a Session, and swipe to the left to edit it.
A "Session" is a way of grouping data. Each time you plan to use OverPsych, a good idea is to create a Session. They are managed on the Sessions screen. To open a Session to view data or make observations, simply tap it on the Sessions screen.
Tip: Name your Session based on where and when it took place to help you find it more quickly.
The Session Detail screen lets you quickly see and edit aspects of the Session.
It is divided into the Student, Activity, and Data subsections, each of which displays relevant information and can be edited by tapping on the section.
The Students section shows which students are being observed during this Session.
The Activities section shows which behaviors are being tracked.
The Data section shows how many events have been observed, and tapping it brings up the detailed Data screen.
Students to be observed are managed on the Students screen. Basic information including name, age, and grade can be saved and edited by clicking on the "more" icon. Like Sessions, you can swipe right to delete a Student and left to edit.
You can enter the student's name, grade, and age, as well as any additional information by swiping left. You can also pick a color for the student.
Yes! Simply search for the student's name using the search bar at the top of the screen, and then tap the "Use" button next to the result.
An Activity is a behavior that is observed during a monitoring session. They are managed on the Activities screen. Each has a name, description, and color to make it readily identifiable. This is the color that appears for the Activity on graphs as well.
The activities in use for the current Session appear at the top of the list. Below are Activities available for you to use, including a selection of commonly-observed behaviors. You can filter the list using the search bar at the top of the screen.
Collecting data for a Session is done on the Observe screen. Click the button corresponding to the student doing the behavior to start the timer. Clicking on a new Activity stops the timer for the previous one.
Yes, simply tap the "switch view" button at the top right of the screen to try out each of three different layouts to find the one best for you!
The Timeline section of the Data screen shows what behaviors occurred at what time during the Session. Clicking on a particular event shows more information and allows you to delete the event as well. You can also use the Filter button to show an individual student's timeline.
Yes. By tapping the "share" button at the upper right, you can export the data for the Session in one of two formats:
The thee chart sections of the Data screen create various visualizations for the data gathered during a Session. The "By Student" tab has graphs based on activity frequency and time for each student, the "By Activity" tab has graphs based student frequency and time for each behavior, and the Compare tab shows data from both students on the same graph.
To export a graph, tap the share icon on its upper right. The graph will be exported in PNG image format.
If you want to share more than a few graphs, try exporting the whole Session in OverPsych format and then using the free OverPsych Viewer to see all of them.
