WITH GRATITUDE
Manship Artists Residency is grateful to everyone who assisted in making Outside @ Manship possible, especially Meri Jenkins, Manship Advisor, Artist and former staff at the Mass Culutral Council (MCC). Without Meri's and the MCC's suport, there would be not a Manship Artists Residency -- it was because of them that we were able to purchase the property. They then partnered with us we renovated the building and began programming. And, when faced with a lockdown and great uncertainty in the early days of CoViD, Meri again stepped in to help imagine a way out so we could continue to serve artists, and Outside @ Manship was conceived.
The Manship Family of Artists continues to grow in spite of these difficult times! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our generous supporters who have made it possible for the Manship Artists Residency + Studios to remain open in 2020. Without your generosity we would not have been able to offer this safe and much needed opportunity to Manship Artists residents and artists living and working on Cape Ann. And for our virtual visitors, we are so glad you have stopped in to see this exhibition!

Manship is grateful to the Rockport Art Association & Museum (RAA&M), the Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC), and the North Shore Arts Association (NSAA) for their assistance. All three organizations are based on Cape Ann. Supporting and working with regional artists is central to, and a core value of, their missions. We asked them to put out a call to their members for Outside @ Manship and they responded with speed and grace. Many thanks to their Boards and Staff, including Heidi Caswell Zander, Karen Berger, James Craig and Sarah Milton of the RAA&M; Janice Brand, and Courtney Richardson of RNAC, and Linda Cote of the NSAA.
Rockport Art Association & Museum
Since 1921, the Rockport Art Association & Museum has been a gathering place of New England artists. With a long and distinguished history, RAA&M welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the world with the promotion of year-round Programs and Exhibitions. The RAA&M remains dedicated to making fine art appreciation accessible to all. For more information visit: https://www.rockportartassn.org/
Rocky Neck Art Colony
Working artists from painters, potters and textile designers to photographers and jewelry makers, display their work in Rocky Neck galleries during the summer months. Part of Gloucester’s Rocky Neck Cultural District, RNAC offers an eclectic mixture of history and culture. The Cultural Center at 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester serves as its headquarters and hosts rotating exhibitions, workshops and events in the Center’s two levels. In addition to these programs, RNAC annually facilitates the Goetemann Artist Residency. Renamed in 2010 in honor of its founder, artist Gordon Goetemann, this prestigious residency at Rocky Neck Art Colony provides each of three visual artists and one environmental/installation artist with a four-week stay in a live-work studio with access to the rich cultural community of Gloucester, MA. North Shore Arts Association (NSAA)
North Shore Arts Association (NSAA) is a community of artists, art patrons, and art lovers, whose mission and goals are deeply rooted in Cape Ann’s cultural history. NSAA’s purpose is to provide artists with a place to meet, display and refine their art, and to make the appreciation of fine art accessible to all. The Association hosts numerous exhibits each year of work by members and retrospectives of works by distinguished deceased members. In 1922 the flourishing art colony organized itself into the North Shore Arts Association of Gloucester and acquired an old warehouse (11 Pirates Lane) on Wonson’s wharf, its current and only home, repurposing it for the display and encouragement of art.
