If you want a rugged, high-capacity solution for hauling lumber and heavy gear in your truck bed without permanent damage, choose OUTPRIZE Non-Drilling Steel Truck; if you need a quiet, aerodynamic base for carrying bikes or kayaks on a Subaru roof, choose JSProNeo Roof Rack Cross. Both options solve the problem of getting more out of your vehicle, but they operate in completely different worlds—one is built for the rough-and-tumble utility of a pickup, while the other is engineered for the smooth efficiency of a crossover SUV.
• Best for: The OUTPRIZE is for the contractor or outdoor enthusiast who needs to move heavy, bulky items like ladders and surfboards directly in the truck bed.
• Best for: The JSProNeo is for the weekend adventurer who wants to transport lightweight recreational gear like bicycles or cargo boxes over their Subaru's roofline.
The OUTPRIZE Non-Drilling Steel Truck Rack is an industrial-grade piece of equipment first and foremost. It is built from robust steel tubing with a powder coating intended to guard against rust and corrosion. This isn't just about looks; it is about surviving the elements while hauling things that would destroy a lighter rack. That number changes the conversation entirely. You aren't looking at this for a single kayak or a couple of bike bags; you are looking at moving a full stack of 2x4s, a pile of lumber, or heavy pipes.
Who should buy this? You should buy this if you own a truck with a bed width between 52 and 71 inches and you need to carry heavy loads that simply won't fit inside the cab. The adjustability allows it to span a wide range of bed widths, making it a versatile tool for different trucks. It also offers two installation methods: drill mounting for maximum stability or no-drill J-Bolt mounting for those who want to avoid damaging their factory bed liner. However, there are hard constraints. If your truck has a utility track system, a side box, a cargo management system, or a camper shell, this rack will not work. It demands an open, flat bed surface to function correctly.
You should skip this product if you plan to leave it exposed to the elements constantly without protection. It is also too large for tailgating setups where you need quick access to the back of the truck without unloading heavy metal bars. If you drive a daily commuter car or a small SUV, this is physically impossible to install. It is a dedicated truck accessory for serious hauling, not a casual add-on.

In stark contrast, the JSProNeo Roof Rack Cross is designed for precision and integration with specific vehicles. This is not a universal "one size fits all" solution; it is tailored specifically for the 2013–2017 Subaru Crosstrek and the 2012–2016 Impreza models equipped with raised side rails. The primary engineering goal here is aerodynamics. The crossbars are made of upgraded thickened aluminum alloy, which keeps the weight down compared to steel, and features a streamlined, low-profile shape. This design choice is critical for highway driving because it significantly reduces wind noise and whistling, creating a quieter cabin environment for your family.
Who should buy this? You should buy this if you own one of the compatible Subaru models and you want to transform your vehicle into a cargo carrier for recreational activities. The modular design allows for quick assembly and disassembly, meaning you can remove the bars when you aren't using them to maintain fuel efficiency and aesthetics. It solves the problem of limited interior space by utilizing the roof, which is otherwise dead weight. The no-drilling requirement ensures that you can mount it securely without voiding warranties or damaging the vehicle's paint.
However, you must skip this product if your vehicle does not match the exact model years listed or lacks raised side rails. It will not fit a standard sedan or a truck. Aluminum is strong, but it is not as rigid as the heavy-duty steel found in the OUTPRIZE. This rack is best for organized, balanced loads rather than chaotic, uneven heavy weights. It is a lifestyle accessory for travel and sports, not a workhorse for construction or farming.
• Vehicle Compatibility → JSProNeo Roof Rack Cross: Only choose JSProNeo if you have a 2013–2017 Crosstrek or 2012–2016 Impreza; the OUTPRIZE fits a wider variety of trucks with beds between 52 and 71 inches.
• Noise and Aerodynamics → JSProNeo Roof Rack Cross: The low-profile aluminum design is superior for reducing wind drag and cabin noise during highway travel.
• Durability and Rust Resistance → OUTPRIZE Non-Drilling Steel Truck: The steel tubing and powder coating offer superior structural integrity, though it requires indoor storage to prevent long-term corrosion.
• Installation Flexibility → OUTPRIZE Non-Drilling Steel Truck: Offers both drill and no-drill options, whereas JSProNeo relies on a specific no-drill fitment for its designated models.
• Tailgating Utility → OUTPRIZE Non-Drilling Steel Truck: The open bed design is ideal for setting up a cooking station or seating area behind the truck, a key use case for tailgating events.
• Cargo Versatility → JSProNeo Roof Rack Cross: Better suited for attaching specialized carriers like bike racks or ski cages due to the rail-mounted platform.
• Weight Consideration → JSProNeo Roof Rack Cross: Being aluminum, it is significantly lighter to handle and install compared to the 50-pound steel unit.
I recommend the OUTPRIZE Non-Drilling Steel Truck for anyone whose primary goal is tailgating. In that scenario, you need a sturdy platform to anchor grills, coolers, and folding chairs, often alongside heavy gear like kayaks or lumber. While the JSProNeo is excellent for its niche, the OUTPRIZE offers the raw utility required for the kind of active, heavy-duty social gatherings that define modern tailgating culture. It is the more powerful tool for the job.
No, it includes a no-drill J-Bolt mounting option that allows for easy installation without causing damage to the truck bed, though drill mounting is available for maximum stability.
No, the specifications indicate compatibility only for 2013–2017 Crosstrek and 2012–2016 Impreza models with raised side rails.
While it has a powder coating, the manufacturer explicitly recommends storing it indoors and applying Truck Bedliner Paint to joints for complete rustproofing.
The design features a streamlined, low-profile shape specifically intended to reduce wind noise and whistling for a comfortable cabin environment.
