Students with Learning Differences

Students with learning differences can (and do!) pursue postsecondary education!

Checklist for Students Receiving RSP Services

  1. Know your rights and understand the differences in services between high school and college. You can see an overview here. You can also check out this resource that explains the difference between IDEA services you receive in high school and ADA services in postsecondary education.

  2. Make sure you have a copy of your IEP!

  3. Contact your school's Student Accessibility Services Offices to ask for an intake session.

  4. Review common accommodations available at the postsecondary level and identify what would be most helpful for you!

  5. Advocate for yourself! You can contact your professors directly to request specific accommodations - check out the template email here!
