We talked briefly about mental health on the last page, but we have made it its own page just to emphasize how strongly we believe mental health is important. Being in IB shouldn't mentally stress you out all the time and affect the way you view your life. You need to find an outlet that allows you to relax and just be yourself. For us, this includes taking naps as soon as I had gotten home from school. It was a way to rejuvenate my body and just give it a break after working hard all day long. Taking my dog Milo out for walks really helped me also because it was a way for me to get some fresh air and not be stuck in my bed all day long.
You can even try something new, such as baking or learning how to play an instrument. It is so important to do things that keep you happy and ready to go on with your day. The foods you eat to utilize your body are also important to the way that you feel. Drink a lot of water and get the right nutrients.
If you are feeling very overwhelmed, please ask for help and speak to the coordinators in your school. If your school has mental health resources utilize them. Speak to family and friends about the way you are feeling. Don't suffer in silence!
