Monday

Monday began with a guided tour of the city of Matera.  Students visited the wide and deep gorge Gravina di Matera and Sassi di Matera  which is well-known for their ancient cave dwellings inhabited since the Paleolithic period. Students also visited the wonderful church of San Pietro Caveoso in Matera.
