Travelling to Oxford
Travelling by Air
For those flying to the UK, the nearest international Airport is London Heathrow.
The Oxford airport busses have direct services for both London Heathrow, and London Gatwick. Ticket and timing information can be found here.
Travelling by Train
If you are arriving by train, Oxford City Station will be the most convenient. It is roughly a 25-minute walk from the station to Manor Road Building. Taxi’s will take around 10 minutes and are easy to find outside the station’s main entrance.
You can also arrive to Oxford Parkway Station. If you do this, you will then need to get a Taxi/Uber for 15 minutes OR the 500 bus, and then walk for 30 minutes. During the weekend closures, there will be a regular bus service from Oxford Parkway to Oxford city station.
Travelling by Bus
The Oxford Tube is a regular bus service that runs from central London to Oxford city center, it goes roughly every 20 minutes and is a cheaper way to travel to Oxford. Tickets
Travelling by Taxi/Car
If you are arriving by taxi, you should use the postcode OX1 3UQ which will take you to Manor Road Building. Unfortunately, parking is not available on site or at Lady Margaret Hall. Parking is very expensive in Oxford, and there are not many options for parking for more than 72 hours, so it is highly recommended to travel by public transport if possible.
Taxi companies:
Royal Cars (Department of Economics recommended) - https://royal-cars.com/
001 Taxis – https://www.001taxis.com/
Uber – Uber is now in Oxford, and will send you a local taxi rather than an Uber driver
