We offer two weeks of free sessions at the start of Michaelmas term. However, we take new members throughout the year and your first class will always be free.
Come at whatever time is most convenient for you and tell the coach that you are new. There is no need to email or register beforehand.
We welcome people of any ability at regular sessions. However, kickboxing sparring sessions on Wednesdays are designed to improve the skills of fighters with existing experience and should be attended at the discretion of the coach.
Please read the Membership section on how to become a member after your first session.
No uniform is required. Come in anything you can move freely in. This could be t shirts, shorts, or tracksuit trousers.
The club has shared equipment you can use during sessions, such as gloves and shin-pads.
At kickboxing sparring sessions on Wednesdays you will be expected to wrap your hands and bring your own gum shield.
You have the option to buy hand wraps and mouth guards from the club at a reduced price. The club sells hand wraps for £5, and mouth guards for £3.50. Please enquire at training if you are interested.
Regular kickboxing training on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays usually offer an element of sparring at the end of each session. Sparring during regular sessions involves pairing with a partner of a similar weight and experience to practice. We recommend wrapping your hands and wearing a gum shield if possible. However, we practice body sparring (no blows to the head) if one or both people in a pair do not have a gum shield.
