The Gaming and Virtual Reality Laboratory provides students with an optimal work environment to immerse themselves in game development and technology innovation. Record yourself or objects in three-dimensional space using our Volumetric Capture station. Capture Suite provides everything you need to develop on popular platforms including Unity and Unreal Engine. As well, come record trackerless motion animations using our iPiSoft program, with easy integration into Blender and other 3D model software.
The newly setup TAG lab features Cintiq tablets that allow artists to unlock their full potential in art, animations, modelling, and more. Each PC comes with all the programs an artist would need to get started with their game dev projects.
The design space provides an optimal workspace for groups to focus on their work and/or to hold meetings. Students are encouraged to use the surrounding whiteboards for creative problem solving and innovative thinking.
The Sound Booth is an insulated area for you to record and experiment with different music related equipment. Inside the booth, you’ll find midi keyboards, microphones, a UR22 Steinberg driver, and provided software.
The Omni treadmill gives the user an immersive VR experience. The treadmill allows you to rotate a full 360° as well as run on the platform. Try the full-body gaming experience in Unity or in any compatible game.
The Photon S uses liquid resin to build your model layer by layer. The printing process requires more steps compared to other printers but the result is a more detailed print. This station provides all of the Anycubic Wash and Cure 2.0 equipment for an optimal printing experience.
The Creality Ender-3 allows you to print a variety of 3D objects with high precision and quality. Any model that you choose can easily be printed and brought to life for prototyping and more. This printer is recommended for beginners.
The Console Gaming Station is a place for students to relax, unwind, and just game with fellow students. The consoles offered here are an Xbox One S, a Wii U, and a PS4/PSVR, with more to come in the future! There is also an HDMI switch that allows students to connect their laptops to the large TV above for presentations, streams, etc.
The 3D scanning area allows students to use the rotating turntable to scan objects in an optimal setting.
The workbench is a space for students to work with more hardware related activities such as soldering electronics, sanding 3D model prints, building controllers, and more!
The VR space gives students a safe area to play and try out the Oculus Quest and other gaming consoles. Mark your VR boundary in this designated for a better gaming experience.
