Chief Instructor Ayano Watanabe 5th Dan 

Shitoryu Karate Canada,  WSKF

Ayano Watanabe was born in Yokohama, Japan, and immigrated to Canada in 1998. She began practicing karate that same year in Montreal and has been training in Shitoryu Karate under Shihan Claude Larouche in Gatineau since 2006.

In 2017, Ayano won 1st place in Kata  (veteran category) at the Pan American Shitoryu Karatedo Festival held in Gatineau. 

In 2023, Ayano earned her 5th dan (fifth-degree black belt), and in 2025, she was certified as a Shidoin (Instructor) 1st kyu.

She has extensive experience teaching karate to both children and adults and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills.

Shitoryu Karate Ottawa is a proud member of Shitoryu Karate Canada and is affiliated with the World Shitoryu Karatedo Federation (WSKF).
