Q: Where can I park?

A: There will be limited parking at the parking cage and any numbered space outside Lisgar Collegiate Institute at 29 Lisgar Street. Be aware that the cage will be locked at 7pm and that you must move your car by that time.

Q: Do I need to play with a mask and a bell cover? I don’t normally do this with my band.

A: Yes. We are modeling How PPE can be used to advocate for a return to indoor wind playing in schools.

Q: If I forget my PPE or don’t have easy access prior to the event, will there be any on site?

A: Yes, we will have extra disposable masks and extra fabric for bell covers.

Q: I have friends who want to come play. Can they drop in?

A: Yes, the more the merrier! Please have them RSVP (even last minute) and complete the registration and vaccination attestation.

Q: Will there be access to washrooms?

A: Yes, City Hall washrooms are available until 5pm. After that there are port-o-potties in Confederation Park beside the NCC Bistro by the fountain (Elgin and Laurier)

Q; I can only arrive closer to 5 pm. Is this alright?

A: We are planning a run-through at 4:20 be sure you are confident in your parts.

Q: I forgot my clothespins to hold my music on my stand. Will you have extra?

A: We will have extra clothespins on site.

Q: I'm struggling to play the piece. Should I still attend?

A: Yes! Come and play the parts you are confident about and you can rest during the trickier spots.

Q: What should I wear?

A: If you own any Music Swag please wear it but also consider the weather and your comfort.

Q: My printer doesn't work. Can you help me with music?

A: Practice using the online music and if you need a physical copy we will have some extras on site.

Q: Will there be chairs?

A: No. If you require a chair you will need to bring one as we have more than 100 musicians signed up for this event.

Q: What if it rains?

A: We are playing RAIN or SHINE so please dress for the weather and place your music under a plastic transparent sleeve. To keep dry you can get creative with umbrellas and backpacks as well we will try to use the overhang at City Hall.

We will also have some clear garbage bags that you can put over your instrument to protect it!
