O.T. Laseinde

Opeyeolu Timothy LASEINDE is a versatile Senior program manager in the SA-UK USDP11 program, an international grant funded by the Newton Fund through the British Council and supported by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) from 2020 to 2023

He is an NRF-rated established researcher, a prolific writer who has authored/co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and has served as an external reviewer for notable publishers. He has vast industry-academia project experience, interfacing with manufacturing, energy, development agencies, and academia stakeholders. 

As a proponent of global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he has received notable awards and grants in innovative multidisciplinary research. He is a “Safer End of Engineered Life champion (SEEL)”, a global ENGINEERING X award by the Royal Academy of Engineering UK, and Lloyd’s Registered Foundation aimed at sustainable net-zero emissions (http://www.ecoeduconnect.com).

He was the energy steering committee representative (2022-23) for Engineering For Change (E4C), a development program of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). With 17 cumulative years of work experience in extraordinarily skilled endeavors, he provides advisory services to small and medium-sized industries towards up-skilling and improving their processes in a bid to achieve net-zero emissions, Zero waste to landfill, and green production systems that will guarantee a safer, sustainable, and carbon-free future for the next generation.  Furthermore, he has successfully managed various industry-academia projects in roles encompassing program development, monitoring & evaluation, energy systems audit, product life cycle assessment, engineering product modeling, maintenance system planning, automatic control system,  building envelope reconditioning, HVAC energy management, VR integration, and closely related projects.

Timothy is passionate about the impact of the United Nations Climate Change Conferences (COP), and is interested in green projects involving implementing environmental protection standards, Life Cycle Assessment, cleaner production systems, and compliance validation of environmental standards.
