When I first started the News Section of my website, my aim was simple: to keep readers updated with the latest developments, both in my own work and in the broader world of storytelling, technology, and culture. But as I worked, I realized something deeper — news is not just information, it’s inspiration.
Every headline is a seed. Some are dramatic, others tragic, others hopeful — but all carry within them the potential for story. A single report about a new scientific breakthrough might spark an entire science fiction plot. A story about local hardship can shape a theme of resilience in one of my novels. Even the quieter news — the everyday victories and struggles — remind me that stories come from the ordinary as much as the extraordinary.
That’s why I’ve restructured the whole website.
Using the News section, as an example.
Instead of just relaying headlines, I now aim to connect them to the way I write, the themes I explore, and the ideas that take root in my creative mind. This way, the News section becomes both informative and reflective — a window into the sources of my imagination.
Of course, raw inspiration needs shaping. That’s where my tools come in:
Zettlr – I use it to draft, organise, and especially to create detailed character profiles and world-building notes. Zettlr’s academic-style structure helps me maintain consistency in even the most sprawling story universes.
LogSeq – My “knowledge garden.” Here, I build connections between ideas, plot threads, and philosophical questions. LogSeq helps me see the bigger picture.
Obsidian – My creative vault. Using links and graph views, I map out story arcs, themes, and connections between characters, ensuring no thread gets lost in the chaos of creativity.
Thank you for visiting this humble site. I am truly grateful to God for giving me the strength and opportunity to continue this work, and I hope you find inspiration, insight, and encouragement as you explore.
Sincerely,
Captain Gemini
