Our goal is to foster a respectful, friendly, and productive environment in all of our groups. Moderation helps keep the community safe and welcoming for everyone.
As the community grows, I will assign trusted moderators to help maintain order and ensure a positive experience for all members. Moderators will have the authority to issue warnings and guide conversations, but only Cody (I - Otto Brinkmeier) will have the ability to suspend or ban users if necessary.
Moderators should:
    • Promote Positive Engagement: Encourage constructive conversations and helpful interactions.
    • Address Issues Early: Step in when you notice tension building or rules being bent.
    • Be Fair and Impartial: Treat all members equally, regardless of personal relationships.
    • Communicate Clearly: When warning someone, explain the issue and refer to the group rules. Ensure members understand why they are being warned.
Moderators have the authority to issue warnings when members violate the group’s Code of Conduct or Terms and Conditions. Here’s how warnings can be handled:
    1. Verbal Warning (Soft Warning):
For minor infractions (off-topic posts, mild disagreements, etc.), politely remind the member of the group’s rules and encourage better behaviour.
       Example:
"Hey [Name], just a quick reminder—please try to stay on topic with our discussions. Thanks!"
    2. Formal Warning (Clear Warning):
For repeated offences or more serious behaviour (disrespecting others, self-promotion without approval), send a direct message explaining the issue and that further misconduct may lead to stricter consequences.
       Example:
"Hi [Name], this is your second reminder to follow our rules on [specific issue]. Please take care to follow our guidelines, or further action may be necessary."
    3. Final Warning:
For serious violations, you may issue a final warning and inform me (Cody) for review. Make it clear that further violations could result in suspension or banning.
       Example:
"[Name], this is your final warning. Repeated rule violations like this can’t continue. I’ve informed Cody, and further actions will be taken if this behaviour persists."
4. Reporting to Admin (Cody)
If a situation escalates or you feel a member needs to be suspended or banned, moderators should report it to me directly. When reporting, provide:
    • A summary of the issue
    • Copies of relevant conversations or screen-shots
    • Any warnings already issued
Only I will decide on whether to suspend or ban a user.
5. Common Situations and Suggested Actions
    • Off-topic or spam posts: Issue a soft warning and remind members to stay on topic.
    • Inappropriate behaviour (harassment, hate speech): Issue a formal warning and report the incident to me immediately.
    • Repeated rule-breaking: Issue a final warning and escalate the situation to me.
    • Members having disagreements: Try to mediate calmly, reminding both sides to respect one another and the group rules.
    • Promoting without permission: Politely inform the member that promotions need admin approval, and issue a warning if needed.
6. Suspension and Banning
Only I (Cody) have the authority to suspend or ban members. After a moderator escalates an issue, I will:
    • Review the evidence provided
    • Communicate with the member involved (if needed)
    • Make the final decision regarding their suspension or ban from the group
Moderators are expected to:
    • Lead by example, following all group rules and guidelines.
    • Remain professional and respectful at all times.
    • Avoid power misuse, personal conflicts, or bias in moderation.
Moderators should meet with me (Cody) regularly to review community behaviour, discuss potential improvements, and ensure we’re fostering a positive environment together.
This moderation policy is designed to keep the community respectful, safe, and enjoyable for all members. If you ever feel uncertain about an issue, don’t hesitate to reach out to me for advice or assistance.
