About me

Osman Zeki Gökçe, Ph.D.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Istanbul Medipol University. My research interests lie in the intersection of quantitative political methodology and international relations focusing specifically on factors affecting the likelihood of interstate relations. My current research focuses on the role of energy interdependence in shaping states’ foreign policy actions. I am also interested in social network and media analyses and their applications on subjects related to domestic and foreign policies.

Previously, I worked as a research assistant in the Department of International Studies at Sabancı University. I received my Ph.D. degree, as well as M.A., in Political Science from the same institution. I also hold M.A. and B.A. degrees in Economics from Koç University. In 2017, I had a pre-doctoral leave as a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Government at Harvard University.
