About
Pokémon, short for "Pocket Monsters," is a multimedia franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori, and developed by Game Freak. It was first introduced by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures in 1996. The franchise began with the release of Pokémon Red and Green (Blue outside of Japan) for the Game Boy, which quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Pokémon centers around the adventures of trainers who capture and train fictional creatures called Pokémon to battle each other. Over the years, Pokémon has expanded into a vast franchise encompassing video games, trading card games, an animated TV series, movies, merchandise, and more, becoming one of the most successful and enduring franchises in the world.

New DLC Announced for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
May 14, 2024 - Exciting news for Pokémon trainers! A new DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been announced, featuring a brand-new region called the Azure Archipelago. Trainers can look forward to discovering over 50 new Pokémon species, including unique regional variants and Legendary Pokémon. The DLC also introduces new gameplay mechanics and a captivating storyline that promises to challenge even the most experienced trainers. The release date is set for September 2024. Stay tuned for more details!
The highly anticipated Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to release in 2025, though the exact date remains unconfirmed. Following the trend set by Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which launched in January 2022, it is expected that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also release early in the year, potentially around Pokémon Day in February. This timing strategy aligns with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo's preference to reserve the holiday season for mainline Pokémon titles.
Mega Evolutions Return
Mega Evolutions, a popular mechanic introduced in Pokémon X & Y, are making a comeback in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This feature allows Pokémon to temporarily evolve into more powerful forms during battles, significantly enhancing their abilities and moves. However, as in previous games, only select Pokémon, typically more powerful or final evolutions, will have access to Mega Evolutions.
