"SULIG" is a Bisliganon term which means "to grow or develop". It is widely used as an expression of motivation to propel actions leading to worthwhile goals.
SULIG Leadership Direction is the operational embodiment of the word in the leadership and service contexts. It is a brand of leadership manifested in: Selfless Shepherding, Unity and Equity, Learning-Centered Paradigm, Innovation and Inclusivity, Genuine Service.
In detail, each attribute means tailored-fit principles aligned to achieve EduKalidad for Bisliganon Children.
A "Cheerful Gabay" who unconditionally renders the services to the clienteles of DepEd-Bislig City Division. This is the individual requirement from each "kawani" at all levels of governance (from classrooms to the division level). The individual efforts of putting service first above self lay the foundation of leadership by which "SULIG" or growth is expected from.
No amount of challenges can destabilize a united family service-oriented and committed employees of DepEd-Bislig City Division. SULIG (to grow) can be achieved when everybody works as one, helping those who need assistance the most. Thus unity and equity is the second component of this leadership direction.
To be in sync in this volatile world, one should see every circumstance in leadership as an opportunity to learn new ideas, thoughts, and strategies. Everything can be learned and relearned and in "betweens" are chances to enhance gains in understanding leading to reinventions of how we deal with the challenges in our organization.
Involving everybody in discovering new and authentic ways of facilitating "Edukalidad" among learners is the centerpiece of this leadership direction. Everybody is mandated to align efforts to the 3Bs initiative (Bawat Batang Bisliganon Bumabasa) of the Department of Education-Bislig City Division.
This is the heart of SULIG Leadership Direction. Pure and relentless efforts being the outcome of "selfless shepherding" (first direction) should be the trademark of every undertaking DepEd-Bislig City Division has to embark.
Every Bisliganon learner deserves the "EduKalidad" which is much needed than ever before. The Philippines' ranking in the Program for Students' International Assessment (PISA) is alarming thus there is really a need to re-engineer our systems leading in breaking barriers that hinder our effectiveness and efficiency towards service.
SULIG Leadership direction is a framework of complete service philosophies which will unlock all efforts of putting premium to quality education through unity and collaboration.
Every member of the DepEd-Bislig City Division, the LGUs, Parents, NGOs, Civic Organizations, the whole community of the City of Bislig have the stake in this initiative. "SULIG" is anchored on the principle that the sense of community is a stronghold of the organizational goal of achieving EduKalidad.
Starting 2020 onwards, all levels of governance in DepEd-Bislig City Division (from classrooms to division level) are mandated to align programs and projects to the principles, values, ideals of SULIG LEADERSHIP DIRECTION.
All undertakings of the said entities (all levels of governance) shall clearly manifest the direction set by this precept.

Our quest for excellence requires our unified efforts. "SULIG" being our leadership direction is a carefully formulated mandate anchored on the essential tenets of leadership and service to which we are expected to render among our Bisliganon children.
Fellow educators, our best is destined to perfection if we will work harmoniously and allow growth to flourish and make it a constant guiding force in us as we cater our deliverables.
Edukalidad is indeed at hand. It is the end goal of our SULIG Leadership Direction. I have so much faith in us, it is possible!
