How often do you run OSCERT?

We endeavour to offer at least 1 trial per sitting.

From 2024.1 onwards, we are running a workshop in addition to a trial exam.

How do I get a spot in OSCERT?

You must fill out the 'Candidate - Expression of Interest' Google Form (on home page), we will then be in contact with you to confirm your place.

How do I know that I'm eligible?

Regional candidates are eligible.

We found it challenging to draw a line.

We try to make it as fair as possible.

You are eligible if:

1) You work in a hospital that's over  1 hour drive from a tertiary hospital in major cities in Australia.

2) If you work in ACT, TAS and NT. We found that candidates that work in these states have limited access to OSCE trials due to the small number of ACEM accredited hospitals in the entire state.

3) We make case by case exceptions to candidates - eg if you don't have a base hospital, if you're on special leave, etc.

Do you waitlist candidates?

Yes.

Eligible candidates get first preference.

If you are not eligible (see previous question) but want to participate, we can waitlist you as well.

How does the online trial work?

Communciation is done via email through our em.oscert@gmail.com account.

You receive the stems to the OSCE stations one day prior to the exam.

OSCERT is delivered on the Zoom platform.

You read your stem in Zoom's 'Main Session'.

You move through 'Breakout Rooms' which act as 'Station Rooms'.
