Malay Wedding Solemnization

In a traditional Malay wedding, the solemnization (also known as *Akad Nikah*) is the most important part of the ceremony, where the marriage becomes legally and religiously binding according to Islamic customs. 

This solemnization ceremony is simple yet deeply significant, focusing on the spiritual and legal aspects of the union. After this, the couple is officially married in the eyes of Islam and civil law. Following the solemnization, a grand reception (*bersanding*) is typically held to celebrate the marriage with extended family and friends.
