Jardín Botánico/Ethnobotanical Trail Xaasj Án, Punta Chueca, Sonora Mexico. Covid-19 and climate change have ecologically and economically impacted the Seri community and other tribes in Mexico. Looking to alleviate current challenges this innovative ecological project auspice by different Sonoran Desert scientists is directed to benefit the Seri tribe in Sonora Mexico. Jardin Botanico Zonas Aridas URUZA-Chapingo, Mexico outreach and education program. The botanic garden at the arid lands campus URUZA from the Autonomous University of Chapingo is one of the few places in the borderlands between Mexico and USA and in the world that preserves and rescues endangered species from the Chihuahuan Desert. It is also one of the few public institutions in Northern Mexico committed to educating and supporting indigenous people. The garden was originally created for educational purposes. However, now the garden is expanding to the general public and community to bring awareness of the importance of preservi endemic species of the Chihuahuan Desert. The Holden Arboretum. The Holden Arboretum established in the 1930's in Kirtland Ohio is one of the largest botanical gardens in the US Great Lakes region. The garden motto "People for trees" speak itself; and highlight the mission and community commitment bringing science and innovation to study forest and educate people about living in balance with our forests. Holden is one of the best institutions connecting science with people. Take a look to their research and education programs, there are opportunities for volunteer and internships.
