Founded in 2016, the Orono Mountain Bike Team (Orono MTB Team) is a co-ed cross country cycling team open to all Orono students in grades 7 - 12.  Registration priority will be given to students in grades 9 -12 during seasons when coaching staff is limited.  The Orono MTB Team is registered with the Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA) and competes in five state-wide races throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin during the fall season (late August through mid-October). 

Mountain Biking is a “no-cut” sport - every member of the team is invited and encouraged to participate in practices and races.  All student-athletes who race will earn points as an individual, and student-athletes racing in the Freshman through Varsity categories have the potential to earn points for their team.
