I just made a website for a french restaurant. The website is in english, but I guess there is enough french on the website (labeled pictures of menu items) to prompt the visitor to translate the website if using Chrome.

This has the benefit here is that it will "disable" the offer to translate the page for you (because it will know the source language correctly), but for other, non-native readers, they will still have the option to translate your site into their own language, and it will work correctly.

The new Google Chrome auto-translation feature is tripping up on one page within one of our applications. Whenever we navigate to this particular page, Chrome tells us the page is in Danish and offers to translate. The page is in English, just like every other page in our app. This particular page is an internal testing page that has a few dozen form fields with English labels. I have no idea why Chrome thinks this page is Danish.

Answer: Google is trying to help you with internationalization, but we need to understand why this is failing. Building off of NinjaCat's answer, we assume that Google reads and predicts the language of your website using an N-gram algorithm -- so, we can't say exactly why Google wants to translate your page; we can only assume that:

Unfortunately, most people reaching this post won't know what words are causing the trouble. Use Chrome's built-in "Translate to English" feature (in the Right-Click context menu) to see what gets translated, you may see unexpected translations like the following:

When I am browsing a webpage that is not english, I should be able to translate it. But when I right click it says "Translate to und", and the button is greyed out so I can't even press it. Also there is not a translate button besides the link in the upper right corner.

And yes, I have checked the box that says "Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read".

I have also gone to: chrome://translate-internals/ and removed all the settings.

I am aware you can upload a pdf to google translate directly, but my experience has been that the translation function works better with smaller, more manageable pieces of text (rather than, say, a whole book). I get much better results, as such, when I translate limited html web pages (it translates a page at a time while I scroll) than when I translate large pdf documents at one time.

I have mostly been converting my pdfs to html and then translating it that way, but html to pdf conversion is not very easily accessible (the online tools often cannot process my files). It would be ideal to open the pdf in chrome and translate it directly within chrome's viewer.

I have the same question as this 2019 query. Looking to see if it is possible to quantify the instances of page being viewed in another language when the visitor is using the translate feature on Chrome.

Google Translate for Chrome is a free productivity tool that enables you to easily translate while surfing the web. Developed by Google, this handy browser extension is a more compact and convenient version of the Google Translate website, as you can simply click on its extension icon to open up a text box and start translating without opening another tab.

Google Translate is a free online service by Google that instantly translates words, phrases, and webpages between English and over 100 other languages. Starting from a dedicated website, it quickly became an integrated service found on Google Search and went on to become a mobile app, as well. While some text and even slang can become lost in the robotic and rigid translations, the beauty of this software is that you can contribute to its catalog and improve the translations yourself.

I was able to turn off the translator by r-clicking a previously translated post. The pop-up window reappears and I ended the hyperactive forum-wide translating. This makes using the translator sorta similar to the one added to Google Groups.

Ok, now is working.

I was using kde, and kde locale were set at spanish, so I expected google-chrome should use my kde locale.

I was wrong. Google-chrome uses systems locale, wich where set at english (can be checked using "locale" command)

Fortunately, Google offers a quick and easy way to translate not just text but entire webpages in a few clicks. Here, we will explain how to translate whole webpages into any language and change how you browse the web using Google Translate.

Many online tools allow you to translate webpages. Here, there are two ways to use the web-based service Google Translate: its translation pop-up and Chrome extension. Here is how you can use either to translate webpages:

When you enter a website in a foreign language, the translation pop-up will automatically appear in the address bar. The webpage should automatically translate to the preferred language you have set. If you need to use the pop-up again, simply click the icon.

The pop-up has an Ellipsis (the three vertical dots) that gives you five options, including choosing another language and always or never translating a specific language. Once you have translated a webpage, you can navigate the site and read the content without issues.

You can easily install and add Google Translate to your Chrome browser for free. With this extension, you can translate text by highlighting and clicking the small icon to reveal the original and translated word. And you can, of course, translate websites.

You can efficiently turn Google Translate on and off by clicking the toggle. In addition, you can choose your preferred language to translate to and add or remove languages to automatically or never translate.

Extension developers would like to be able to translate the text of pages.Transforming arbitrary DOM trees into blocks of text of suitable length fortranslation is hard, and potentially time consuming if done naively. Noticingdynamic updates to the page is also difficult to do correctly. Also, modifyingthe content of text nodes may confuse some web applications who weren'texpecting mutation events to occur (this is probably a minor problem though).

Expose an API that can feed an extension process blocks of text to translate.Chromium takes care of the hard work of creating nice blocks of text, removinghtml tags, noticing dynamic updates, handling races between the extension andrenderer process, and modifying the text of the page in the most compat-friendlyway.

Text Blaze is a productivity tool that helps you insert GPT-generated text in any website or app (via Chrome or Windows). Using Text Blaze, you can translate languages using ChatGPT and insert the text with only a few presses on your keyboard. Not only that, but you can use Text Blaze's GPT integration to write emails, send LinkedIn messages, correct typos and grammar, and much more.

Everyone wants to learn a new language; many make it a New Year's resolution. But if you don't have time to crack open the books, there's another way to learn: Toucan. This Chrome extension doesn't just translate the content you read, it actually introduces words from the language you're trying to learn seamlessly so you can start recognizing them and building up your vocabulary. It also has a text-to-speech feature that'll help you learn pronunciation.

These are just some of our favorite online translation tools for Chrome. Don't spend your time on the Chrome store searching for google translate, translate google addon, page translation extension. Ranging from language learning on Chrome or translation software, these tools will be sure to improve your browsing experience. Not looking for translation help? Curious about some other extensions? How to set up the little pop-up bar down below the screen, which generates a quick Google search whenever a word or phrase has been highlighted, to automatically translate what has been selected. That was my original setup but I guess I have messed up some settings and now it doesn't translate. How can I turn it back on?

One way to disable it is to do so from Chrome browser settings. Turn off "Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read" as below. Be noted, this approach will disable Google Translate not only Pega app but any other web sites. Also, this operation has to be done per client PC, which is a lot of work.

I am working on my portfolio website and I have used transform translate property to position and animate my text content. It looks fine in every modern browser except google chrome. Text looks really blurry, not nice at all. Have any of you encountered this problem before? If yes, what did you do to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance.

Is it possible to translate a page in the same tab were it is opened, like on Google Chrome browser?I have tried Imtranslator, or QGTranslate or Google Translator addons for FIrefox, and all of them translate the page opening it in a new tab, and it doesn't help me at all.

Human language translators carry the knowledge of different languages, allowing them to read foreign language documents on their own. For the rest of us, though, finding a tool to translate a document or web page into our native language represents an easier process than trying to learn a new language.

Foreign language translator tools are available in a variety of places on the Internet. But the most convenient option is to install a Chrome translate extension that will give you results directly in the Chrome web browser. Some of these extensions even help you when learning a new language.

When you encounter a web page in Chrome that uses a foreign language, you may see a popup window that offers to translate the page. If not, just right-click anywhere on the web page and left-click on Translate to English in the popup menu. ff782bc1db
