I just made a website for a french restaurant. The website is in english, but I guess there is enough french on the website (labeled pictures of menu items) to prompt the visitor to translate the website if using Chrome.

This has the benefit here is that it will "disable" the offer to translate the page for you (because it will know the source language correctly), but for other, non-native readers, they will still have the option to translate your site into their own language, and it will work correctly.

The new Google Chrome auto-translation feature is tripping up on one page within one of our applications. Whenever we navigate to this particular page, Chrome tells us the page is in Danish and offers to translate. When I am browsing a webpage that is not english, I should be able to translate it. But when I right click it says "Translate to und", and the button is greyed out so I can't even press it. Also there is not a translate button besides the link in the upper right corner.

I am aware you can upload a pdf to google translate directly, but my experience has been that the translation function works better with smaller, more manageable pieces of text (rather than, say, a whole book). I get much better results, as such, when I translate limited html web pages (it translates a page at a time while I scroll) than when I translate large pdf documents at one time.

I have mostly been converting my pdfs to html and then translating it that way, but html to pdf conversion is not very easily accessible (the online tools often cannot process my files). It would be ideal to open the pdf in chrome and translate it directly within chrome's viewer.

I was using kde, and kde locale were set at spanish, so I expected google-chrome should use my kde locale.

I was wrong. Google-chrome uses systems locale, wich where set at english (can be checked using "locale" command)

How to set up the little pop-up bar down below the screen, which generates a quick Google search whenever a word or phrase has been highlighted, to automatically translate what has been selected. That was my original setup but I guess I have messed up some settings and now it doesn't translate. How can I turn it back on?

One way to disable it is to do so from Chrome browser settings. Turn off "Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read" as below. Be noted, this approach will disable Google Translate not only Pega app but any other web sites. Also, this operation has to be done per client PC, which is a lot of work.

I am working on my portfolio website and I have used transform translate property to position and animate my text content. It looks fine in every modern browser except google chrome. Is it possible to translate a page in the same tab were it is opened, like on Google Chrome browser?I have tried Imtranslator, or QGTranslate or Google Translator addons for FIrefox, and all of them translate the page opening it in a new tab, and it doesn't help me at all.
