Saturday and Sunday, January 10-11, 2026: 3rd annual Central Florida Sacred Harp Singing Weekend. Singing from The Sacred Harp: 2025 Edition and The Christian Harmony, 2010 on Saturday, and from The Shenandoah Harmony, The Valley Pocket Harmonist, and The Sacred Harp, Revised Cooper Edition, 2012 on Sunday. Tuesdays, 6pm – 8pm: Weekly Practice Singing at the home of Dean and Rachel in Oviedo. We often do some singing-school-style instruction and slow practice of parts especially for new singers. We sing from a variety of shape-note tunebooks including The Christian Harmony, 2010 (DoReMi, 7 shapes), and 4-shape books including The Sacred Harp: 2025 Edition, The Sacred Harp, Revised Cooper Edition, 2012, The Shenandoah Harmony, and The Valley Pocket Harmonist. Please feel free to invite friends and let me know if you plan to come, would like weekly email or text-message reminders, need our address, or have any questions. Regular monthly singings in Tallahassee: 1st Friday - Denson book singing and 3rd Friday - Cooper book singing. Both held at Quaker Meeting House, 2001 S. Magnolia Drive, Tallahassee, from 7 - 9 pm with a break for snacks. Loaner books are available.
