Alright, writing. I do that. Just now I gotta use some prompts… fun…
How to write a poem maybe. I like poems… kinda…
Okay. Um… you know what? Forget the poem.
Different prompt: Status update thing
Uh- no- can’t say my name that often-
You may be a writer if… if you can’t work in a box like this
How about: how to be a writer?
Ugh! No-
Why does everything feel so in the box? So… basic and boring! There’s no spice, no romance, no action! Nothing.
I tell you if I could choose my own prompt it’d be something like “a lonely siren girl meets sweet human boy but both don’t know the fate that awaits them”! Something exciting!
Something unexplainable! Like “generation of teens have magical abilities, society is baffled!”
Maybe relatable! Like “high school secret gay lovers hiding their love because society forbids it”!
Or maybe just…
Something that means something to someone. Something someone will look back on and think “wow. That was something” rather than just scrolling past.
Or maybe just nothing at all…
Here’s one…
Why you shouldn’t be a writer.
No one appreciates writing like they used to
I write and write for days and weeks on end and post with one click of a button to get no interaction
Writing sucks
There is no clear-cut answer to one’s carefully crafted words and there’s no proper rhyme or reason to any of it
It’s just words on a page put together to make something one might find thrilling while others find a waste of time
You’ll be compared to
People saying this story was better than what you wrote
Or maybe they’ll think you stole from another if the characters are even the slightest amount of similar
Constantly coming up with new ideas that are fresh and entertaining and never before seen gets tiring when you realise someone has already beat you to it
Don’t become a writer
Writers don’t get real jobs
They get newspapers that someone never reads
Don’t become a writer
It’s a waste of time, waste of space, waste of energy, waste of creativity and a waste of ink
Ink that will forever stain the pages I tear
