Janeen Stevens is the author of the plays Barcinda Forest, Toughing Slumaria, No Greater Love (The Xavier Company), Barcinda Forest, Moon 2 @ Tryston is her most recent play.

As an actress, Ms. Stevens has performed extensively in regional theatres in New York; she performed in UnderMilkwood at Pulse Ensemble and Beyond the Horizon at Jane Street Theatre. She was a member of The Second Story Players, during which the group received an Obie award for “consistent seriousness of purpose and superior standards of production” in 1967. She also toured the Asian Pacific rim as Henrietta in the musical Little Mary Sunshine.

Ms. Stevens received her MA in Theater Arts from Hunter College, CUNY, where she studied to be a playwright with Ed Wilson and Shirley Lauro.
