Dr. Geri Alumit Zeldes is a tenure professor and documentary filmmaker for MSU's School of Journalism. She has five regional Emmys and more than a dozen national awards for her films. For Organic Network, she served as the executive producer, which consisted of fundraising and hiring crew members.
Elena Sheperd is a documentary filmmaker from Michigan. She went to college at Michigan State, which is when she decided to be a producer/director. With two documentary short films, and experience as a producer at WKAR Public Media, Elena loves to share information and compelling stories through video. Organic Network is her second documentary short film. It shares information about urban farming in Flint, Michigan and serves as a follow up to two other films (Kings of Flint and Flint River Farm). In addition to contemporary stories, she also enjoys researching historical topics. Her first film, Michigan Prohibition, highlighted the stories of women during the prohibition era.
Chris Cummings is a recent graduate from MSU's School of Journalism with a BA in Digital Storytelling and concentration in Filmmaking. During pre-production on Organic Network, Chris worked with the film's director to coordinate equipment needs, and on shoots, he ensured all audio the team captured was in the best quality possible. In post-production, he assisted in video editing and conducted audio mixing to ensure all of the audio was clean and at a consistent volume. He also assisted in creating the main poster for the documentary, as well as creating this website.
