The Organic Chemistry Synthesis Problem Generator offers multi-step synthesis problems for students to practice their skills.
To begin, click the blue "New Problem" button. The program will generate a starting molecule and a target molecule for the synthesis. Work through the synthesis on paper, then click "Check Problem" to view a possible solution and compare it to your own.
To customize the functional groups used in problems, go to "Edit" > "Settings". Here, you can also enable dark mode.
To export a problem as an image, select "File" > "Export as Image".
By default, each problem includes a starting reagent and a product. Enabling "Advanced Synthesis" in the settings removes the starting reagent. In this mode, students must start from benzene or propane to start their synthesis.
Dark mode can be enabled through a toggle button in settings.
