Volunteers

Volunteering is a great way to get a glimpse into what Odyssey of the Mind is all about!!! We are grateful for our enthusiastic volunteers who support the program each year.

Parents

Parents are needed to assist their child's team as much as possible. Parents serve as an extra set of hands to help the coaches manage the team, provide snack on a rotating basis, and sometimes even provide a meeting spot.

Once your child's team is formed, you will be asked for your availability.

Skills and Demonstrations

We look for volunteers who can share their unique skills with a team! You could help a team learn how to use a drill, various art techniques, how to make small machines, writing skills, acting techniques, sewing, etc.

Required Volunteers

BOCES requires each team to send one tournament volunteer (concession stand duty does not count toward this requirement) and one judge. Any team not meeting this requirement is assessed a fine by the tournament.

Please note that judges must be 18 and cannot be in high school.
