If you want a rugged, chrome-plated hitch that doubles as a recovery tool with a lighter overall footprint for your heavy-duty truck, choose ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch; if you need a heavier, powder-coated mount designed to withstand the harshest road salt and corrosion without worrying about scratches, choose METOWARE Trailer Hitch Tri. This isn't a close call between two identical tools; it is a decision between a polished, versatile accessory and a rugged, weather-hardened workhorse. Both units promise to replace three separate mounts with one, but they approach the job from different angles of durability and design philosophy.
I have analyzed the specifications, materials, and intended use cases for both to help you make the right choice for your vehicle, whether you are hauling an RV for a family camping trip or moving equipment for a job site. The distinction comes down to finish quality versus raw weight capacity in specific environments. One prioritizes a sleek, multi-functional look that includes a dedicated tow hook for recovery straps, while the other leans into a heavy-duty black coating meant to hide wear and tear from years of off-road abuse.
• ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch: Its standout feature is the high-grade chrome plating on both the balls and the integrated tow hook, offering a premium look and scratch resistance, though long-term exposure to rain may lead to natural oxidation.
• METOWARE Trailer Hitch Tri: This unit features a heavy-duty black powder coating designed specifically to resist road salt, snow, and dust, making it superior for harsh winter climates.
• Who each pick is for: Choose ORCISH if you value the dual functionality of a chrome finish and a built-in recovery hook for light-to-medium duty hauling. Choose METOWARE if you prioritize maximum corrosion resistance and don't mind the extra weight for serious off-road or winter towing.
The ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch is engineered for the owner who wants versatility without cluttering their bumper with multiple pieces of hardware. The defining characteristic of this unit is its "4-in-1" design, which integrates three distinct trailer ball sizes—1-7/8 inches, 2 inches, and 2-5/6 inches—into a single chrome-plated assembly. This isn't just a cosmetic addition; it transforms the hitch into a functional recovery tool. If you find yourself needing to pull a stuck ATV out of a mud hole or secure a strap during a transport issue, having that hook immediately available is a significant advantage over standard hitches.
This product is specifically designed for Class III and IV 2-inch square receiver tubes, fitting a wide array of vehicles including trucks, SUVs, pickups, tractors, and UTVs. The chrome plating provides enhanced scratch resistance and wear protection, which keeps the unit looking sharp even after frequent towing of boats, campers, and livestock trailers. However, the manufacturer notes a critical trade-off regarding longevity in wet environments. While the chrome is durable, like all steel towing equipment, long-term exposure to rain or harsh weather can cause natural oxidation. If you live in a region where your vehicle sits outside in the rain constantly, you will need to maintain the finish to keep it from developing surface rust.

For the buyer, this hitch is best suited for someone who values aesthetics alongside utility. It is perfect for everyday hauling, recreational towing, and heavy-duty outdoor use where you might need to switch between a small utility trailer and a larger boat quickly. If you are the type of driver who likes their gear to look pristine and appreciate having a built-in safety net for recovery scenarios, this is the logical choice. Just remember that it is not height adjustable and does not fit 2.5-inch receivers, so verify your vehicle's specs before committing.
METOWARE takes a different approach with the Trailer Hitch Tri, focusing heavily on environmental resilience and raw structural integrity. The most notable difference you will see immediately is the finish. Instead of chrome, this unit sports a heavy-duty black powder coating. According to the product details, this topcoat is specifically formulated to resist rain, dust, road salt, snow, and other corrosive substances. If you live in the Rust Belt or frequently drive on roads treated with de-icing chemicals in the winter, this coating offers a clear advantage over the chrome alternative. It hides scuffs and scratches better than a bright finish, meaning the hitch looks functional rather than worn out after months of hard use.
This added mass suggests a robust construction designed to absorb vibration and stress during heavy hauling. Like its competitor, it accommodates the same three standard ball sizes: 1-7/8 inches, 2 inches, and 2-5/6 inches.
This hitch is built for adventure, particularly for those who venture off the beaten path or tow in challenging weather conditions. The sporty utility of the black finish makes it ideal for towing dirt bikes, ATVs, motorcycles, and recreational vehicle trailers where the equipment might get dirty or damaged. The design allows for quick and easy ball size changes, eliminating the need to carry a garage full of different mounts. However, the trade-off is the weight; if you are constantly removing and reinstalling the hitch, the extra two pounds might be noticeable. It is not height adjustable either, so it is strictly for users with a standard 2-inch receiver. If your priority is a hitch that can take a beating from salt and grime without losing its structural integrity or appearance, the METOWARE is the superior engineering choice.
• Best for Corrosion Resistance → METOWARE Trailer Hitch Tri. The heavy-duty black powder coating is explicitly designed to fight road salt and snow, whereas the chrome on the ORCISH unit is prone to natural oxidation over time if exposed to moisture.
• Best for Recovery Utility → ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch. While both have hooks, the ORCISH emphasizes the chrome-plated tow hook as a key upgrade for recovery or strap use, making it a more visible and accessible tool for emergency situations.
• Best for Aesthetics → ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch. The shiny chrome finish offers a premium, polished look that complements many truck designs, whereas the METOWARE has a utilitarian, matte black appearance.
• Best for Heavy-Duty Winter Towing → METOWARE Trailer Hitch Tri. The combination of the powder coat and the slightly higher item weight suggests a build optimized for the harshest elements.
• Best for Lighter Weight Handling → ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch.
• Best for Versatility in Finish → ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch. If you prefer a reflective, easy-to-clean surface that shows off the craftsmanship, this is the winner.
• Best for Hiding Wear and Tear → METOWARE Trailer Hitch Tri. The black coating conceals scratches, mud, and road grime far better than a polished chrome surface.
• Best for Kids in Car → ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch. While both are heavy-duty towing devices, the ORCISH design feels slightly more refined for family vehicles where you might want a cleaner look under the bumper when not actively towing.
After weighing the pros and cons of both designs, I would buy the ORCISH Tri-Ball Trailer Hitch for my own needs. The combination of the chrome finish and the dedicated tow hook creates a more versatile tool for general family use. I prefer the ability to have a polished, reliable recovery point right on my bumper, and the lighter weight makes it easier to manage. For families traveling with kids in car, having a hitch that looks good and functions as a safety tool without requiring constant maintenance against the elements is the smarter investment. That said, if you live in a place where you never see the sun and your car is covered in salt year-round, the METOWARE would be the only logical choice.
The METOWARE Trailer Hitch Tri is superior for snowy climates because its heavy-duty black powder coating is specifically rated to resist road salt, snow, and corrosion, unlike the chrome finish which can oxidize over time.
