Orbioom ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Orbini mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
• Account Information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (if you choose to share it) and email address. You may also use the App as a guest without providing any personal information.
• Profile Data: Your display name (optional), learning preferences, and interest selections.
• User-Generated Content: Topic names you enter for AI-generated learning paths.
Information collected automatically:
• Usage Data: Learning progress, quiz scores, streaks, XP earned, achievements unlocked, and learning time. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to our servers when you are signed in.
• Subscription Data: Purchase status and subscription type (managed entirely by Apple — we do not collect or store payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details).
• Device Information: We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data.
Information we do NOT collect:
• Payment or billing information (handled exclusively by Apple)
• Precise or coarse location data
• Contacts, photos, or files from your device
• Browsing history or data from other apps
• Advertising identifiers
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Sync your learning progress across your devices
• Generate personalized AI learning paths based on topics you request
• Process and manage your subscription status
• Send optional push notifications (streak reminders, daily challenges) — only with your explicit permission
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. AI-Generated Content
When you create a custom learning path, the topic text you enter is sent to our secure server, which forwards it to a third-party AI service provider to generate educational content. We may change AI service providers at any time without notice. We do not send your name, email, or any personal identifiers to any AI provider — only the topic text. AI-generated content is for educational purposes only and should not be treated as professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise).
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using cloud infrastructure providers with servers secured by industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest). Your profile data is also cached locally on your device using encrypted app storage. We implement Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
• Service Providers: Cloud hosting providers (data storage), AI service providers (content generation), and Apple (subscription processing). These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services. We may change service providers at any time.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of Orbioom, our users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account through the App, we delete your profile data from our servers. Locally cached data is removed from your device upon sign-out or account deletion. Subscription records may be retained as required by applicable financial regulations.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing (e.g., push notifications)
• Opt out of any future data processing changes

For European Economic Area (EEA) residents: We process your data under the lawful bases of contract performance (providing the App) and legitimate interests (improving the App). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California residents: Under the CCPA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
For all other jurisdictions: We comply with applicable local data protection laws. If your jurisdiction grants additional rights beyond those listed above, we will honor them upon request.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
