What’s new?
New Orange® User – If you are a new user to Sunlight’s Orange® portal, you will be sent an email to establish your password. Check the box on the set-up screen to accept the terms and conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program.
Already Have an Orange® Account But Haven’t Enrolled In the Sunlight Rewards Program - You’ll receive a pop-up asking if you want to enroll in the Sunlight Rewards Program. Just click the enroll button.
What if I already enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program?
If you’ve already enrolled and created your account for the Sunlight Rewards Program, you will receive a pop-up notifying you of the updated terms and conditions. You do not have to opt-in to continue participating but you will have the ability to opt out by checking the box.
If you are enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program, the top of your screen will display a leaderboard similar to the following:
What if I ignore the pop-up or just haven’t enrolled yet?
If you haven’t enrolled there will be a button at the top of your screen (under the leaderboard) that says “Join Rewards and Start Earning” click that button and follow the instructions to enroll.
How do I begin shopping for prizes?
After you accept the Terms and Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program, you will receive a welcome email from contactus@sunlightfinancialrewards.com. Just click the “Create Rewards Login” button to set up your password. You may be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program again. After this you can begin viewing the catalog and adding prizes to your wish list.
Does this affect my taxes?
The Sunlight Rewards Program may affect your taxes. If your total redemptions for the taxable year exceed $600, the IRS requires that you state the Rewards value as part of your taxable earnings. Once you earn over $600 worth of Rewards points Sunlight will ask you to provide some additional information (including your address and SSN) so we can provide you with a 1099 statement.Please note that Sunlight is not a tax advisor and cannot provide individual tax advice. Any questions regarding the impact of your participation in the Sunlight Rewards Program on your taxes should be directed to your tax advisor. *
*Sunlight requires that each user has their own individual Orange account, this ensures that each user manages their own tax liability.
How does the new Sunlight Rewards Program work for solar partners?
· Each deal that receives "Notice to Proceed” approval will earn you at least 5,000 points
· Your third deal will earn you an additional 30,000 points bonus - that's 45,000 total points for just 3 deals with Sunlight!
· Status – We want to encourage and reward our most loyal partners by bumping them up to higher rewards status levels for continuing to sell Sunlight: *
o Silver – Your first three deals will be worth 5,000 points
o Gold – Once you sell 3 deals, all your subsequent deals will be worth 2x points!
o Platinum – Once you sell 18 deals, all your subsequent deals will earn you 5x points!
o Platinum Elite – Once you sell more than 30 deals all your deals will earn you 10x points!
*Your rewards status is determined in 6-month increments – from January 1st – June 30th and from July 1st - December 31st. Whenever you earn your rewards status, it will be good for the rest of that 6 month period and the following 6 month period.
Example: If you start with Sunlight in March and you sell 18 deals by May – all your deals until December 31st will earn you at least 5x points. To keep your platinum status for the next year, you’d need to earn 18 deals from July 1st to December 31st.
What if I am A Home Improvement Partner?
If you are a home improvement user and you are running deals through Sunlight, then you may be eligible to participate in the Sunlight Rewards Program. If your company is participating, you will receive an email from contactus@sunlightfinancialrewards.com to create your login and accept the Terms and Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program. *
· Please note that the rewards status and visibility of points in Orange will not be available for Home Improvement users in the February 19th release. Capability will be added in a future release.
· If you cannot find this email please contact incentivesupport@sunlightfinancial.com. Please note only home improvement users that launched without any referral applied are eligible to participate in the Sunlight Rewards Program.
What if I sell both solar and home improvement loans through Sunlight?
Your solar and home improvement points will be tracked through a single Sunlight Rewards account. The initial launch the new Sunlight Rewards program on February 19th will be for solar users that are on the Orange platform. Home Improvement users who are eligible for rewards can accrue points during this time, but Home Improvement sales will not count towards a Sunlight Rewards Status at this time.
Are there other bonus opportunities and will my status multiplier effect how much I can earn on these bonuses?
We will be running promotions and other bonus opportunities all year long to help you earn more. Keep in mind that any bonuses will not be calculated based on your rewards status. For example, a bonus opportunity of 30,000 points can only earn you 30,000 regardless of your status. You'll receive email updates about any new bonus opportunities.
Will I get points as soon as I sign up a new deal?
Your points will be pending when the customer’s loan agreement is signed but will not be awarded until after the deal is approved by Sunlight for “Notice To Proceed”. The request for “Notice to Proceed” may be handled by your operations teammates. You can help by making sure customers are submitting any necessary stipulation documents - this makes sure Sunlight can deposit your points as soon as possible!
I’m already enrolled in Sunlight Rewards Program. Can I count my deals before February 19th toward my Sunlight Rewards Status?
The Terms and Conditions for the new Sunlight Rewards Program provide that deals will only be eligible for Sunlight Rewards Status on or after February 19th. This means Sunlight solar deals that were approved before February 19th will not count toward your Sunlight Rewards Status.
I have been working with Sunlight and just signed up for the Sunlight Rewards Program. Can I get credit from my previous sales?
Unfortunately, Sunlight can only award points for sales that were approved after you accepted the Terms and Conditions of the Sunlight Rewards Program. All deals approved thereafter will earn you points according to your Sunlight Rewards Status.
I’m already enrolled in the Sunlight Rewards Program and it seems like my balance may be incorrect?
The awarded points at the top of your Orange® dashboard will show the points you have earned since February 19th. If you earned points before February 19th, they will not be visible in this counter.
If you click into your Sunlight Rewards Program profile (click the present icon), you will be able to see your current points balance which would include points earned before February 19th (total points earned minus any redemptions for prizes).
Do points expire?
With the Sunlight Rewards Program, points never expire.
When does the Sunlight Rewards Program end?
The program is currently ongoing, but Sunlight reserves the right to end the Sunlight Rewards Program at any time.
