Oracle Access Management provides innovative new services that complement traditional access management capabilities. It not only provides Web SSO with MFA, coarse grained authorization and session management but also provides standard SAML Federation and OAuth capabilities to enable secure access to external cloud and mobile applications. It can be easily integrated with the Oracle Identity Cloud Service to support hybrid access management capabilities that can help customers to seamlessly protect on-premise and cloud applications and workloads.

Access Manager SSO allows users and groups to access multiple applications after authentication, eliminating the need for multiple sign-on requests. To enable SSO, a Web server, Application Server, or any third-party application must be protected by a WebGate (or mod_osso instance) that is registered as an agent with Access Manager. Administrators then define authentication and authorization policies to protect the resource. To enforce these authentication policies, the agent acts as a filter for HTTP requests.

WebGates are agents provided for various Web servers by Oracle as part of the product. Custom access clients, created using the Access Manager SDK, can be used with non-Web applications. Unless explicitly stated, information in this book applies equally to both.

Access Management delivers risk-aware, end-to-end multifactor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) that seamlessly integrate identities and systems across cloud and on-premises. Enhanced with microservices and available to deploy as an image in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or in on-premises data centers, organizations gain flexibility to control access for existing enterprise platforms and support their migration to cloud. Organizations can ensure these policies follow the user regardless of the device and location to secure access to data anywhere, anytime, from any device.

Deliver seamless user enterprise access control across cloud and on-premises from any device. Single sign-on (SSO) simplifies access to minimize the requirements for the user, while enabling consistent access security.

Easily scale up and down using Open Application Model (OAM) with Docker/Kubernetes images to rapidly deploy instances of Oracle Access Management on-premises or in the cloud. Supported by high availability, failover and extensive global data center support, organizations can focus on their broader organizational needs with full confidence in the resiliency of their access management solution.

Oracle Access Manager (OAM) renders a login page on accessing an application protected by OAM. System Administrators can specify where they want to redirect the user to, if the user has bookmarked the login page. They can specify any protected resource URL as the default page under Challenge Parameters field of the authentication scheme. The login page URL will contain a context to locate the landing page. When a bookmarked login page is accessed , OAM server will redirect the user to the default login page defined in the authentication scheme that is tied to the login page.

Departments can determine how much access users have, but users have the ability to submit requisitions in Oracle Financials Cloud and submit requests in Concur automatically once the user account is established in those systems. User account creation happens automatically within days of the employee having an active status date in UCPath.

Common department 'additional roles' include workflow approver roles for Oracle & Concur and delegated purchasing authority of $500, $2500, or $5000. When completing the access request form, be sure to select all the Financial Unit(s) that you are an approver for.

I've found many questions like this...(Connect to an Oracle Database in Swift - Stack Overflow) in which people are trying to access a DB from a mobile front end. Naturally, answers are advising against making DB connections from the front end, and instead connecting to a back end application that does the DB access. These questions aren't helpful, because I'm trying to write that back end application... in Swift.

Thanks.

The HR System access request form is used to request access to Oracle, TimeClock Plus and the Equifax I-9 system. Various levels of access can be requested. Access levels are described below. If you have questions please contact HR IS at HR_IS@mail.colostate.edu.

Allows a user to approve time entries in TimeClock Plus. An employee with the TimeClock Approval access can be added to a project on the TimeClock projects form. The employee would then be allowed to approve time entries for employees associated with the project in TimeClock Plus.

I'm using SSIS 2012, oracle 12 client on Windows 2012. We created a simple package that only attempts to connect to Oracle. It works for me and anybody else who is local admin on the Windows server. The problem occurs when we execute the package from an AD account coming from a 3rd party scheduling tool on a seperate server. When executing the package throught the scheduling tool SSIS throws the error: "Microsoft OLE DB Service Components" Hresult: 0x80070005 Description: "Access is denied.". Following that error is: Connection may not be configured correctly or you may not have the right permissions on this connection.

At first I thought it had something to do with permissions to the Oracle Home folder on the Windows Server so we gave the scheduling tool AD account modify access to it and subfolders but it still fails.

I ended up running process monitor on the server while the package was executed and found that it was in fact a DLL in the oracle folder that was getting the access denied error. It seems that the permissions on the Oracle Home folder were not inherited to the subfolders and files. Once the permissions were inherited the package worked fine. :pinch:

I recently encountered an issue while creating an ArcSDE on a new server, it was throwing me bad login error while executing Create Enterprise Geodatabase tool. The issue was very confusing that I could not connect to the oracle from both arcmap or arcgis pro however I was able to connect to the database from sql developer. The oracle client was properly configured since I was able to make connection to the other database from both arcmap and arcgispro.

The issue was in the database user password, it was carrying an special character '@' which I request the database admin to change, doing so I was able to connect to the oracle from arcmap and eventually created the ArcSDE. Hope this helpful.

John,

the issue has been resolved here, it is internal server access issue. The strange thing is usually I have other error message like user/password login error, not Access violation at address 0000000007B9C37E in module 'Toad.exe'. Read of address 0000000000000010

Firewall configurations that restrict outbound access to Duo's service with rules using destination IP addresses or IP address ranges aren't recommended, since these may change over time to maintain our service's high availability. If your organization requires IP-based rules, please review Duo Knowledge Base article 1337.

I am attempting to establish an oracle data connection via the Gallery, but continue to receive ORA-12154 error. I have gotten together with the database admin to troubleshoot the Oracle Client and connection on the server and no issues were identified. Are there any tricks to create an Oracle data connection on Gallery? Are there any thoughts on how to establish this connection? What are the best ways to troubleshoot from Gallery?

Give the connection name as your DSN name and paste the string you have copied from the input tool and click save. Give access to the required user and it should work.If yours is a multi-node environment then DSN should be created on all nodes

Note: Completing this training does not automatically grant access to the Oracle Financials System. An Oracle responsibility must be requested after the successful completion of module-specific training. View the Training Areas page for module-specific training plans.

For an Oracle source endpoint to connect to the database for a change data capture (CDC) task, you might need to specify extra connection attributes. This can be true for either a full-load and CDC task or for a CDC-only task. The extra connection attributes that you specify depend on the method you use to access the redo logs: Oracle LogMiner or AWS DMS Binary Reader.

For more information on configuring CDC for a self-managed Oracle database as a source, see Account privileges required when using Oracle LogMiner to access the redo logs, Account privileges required when using AWS DMS Binary Reader to access the redo logs, and Additional account privileges required when using Binary Reader with Oracle ASM.

DMS binary reader for Oracle source without ASM uses Oracle Directories to access archived redo logs. If your database is configured to use Fast Recovery Area (FRA) as an archive log destination, the location of archive redo files isn't constant. Each day that archived redo logs are generated results in a new directory being created in the FRA, using the directory name format YYYY_MM_DD. For example: e24fc04721
