DISTRICT GOAL
The district's goal is to prevent students from dropping out of school and assist students in recovering credits to "get back on track" and graduate with their cohort, or class. Options Academy at Veterans Memorial High School will increase the graduation rate of college-ready, college-bound students.
VISION
Provide high standards of instructional services conducive to supporting students who are at a high risk of dropping out of school, while fully developing their academic, social, and technological knowledge and skills to prepare them to become college & career-ready citizens.
PURPOSE
Provide an OPTION for students to for students to:
complete STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) requirements for graduation.
complete high school credits for graduation.
complete credits to graduate with cohort or class.

counseling/mentoring
community agency referrals
college-readiness preparation
full-time certified teacher & librarian

PROCESS
Options Academy is a unique program for students who meet the eligibility criteria:
Academic Need
Cohort Graduation Plan
Student and Parent Interviews
Age (Students must be under age 20.)
Credits (Students must have at least 7 high school credits.)
STEPS
Apply by filling out the application provided by the counselor.
Attend an orientation meeting (scheduled after the application is received).
Exit interview upon successful completion of credits and post-secondary goals.
