We are a club of 20 active members and will always welcome new members!!  Our club is a member of Optimist International. We also sponsored the formation of a Junior Optimist Club, Owen Sound and District Junior Optimist Club in spring, 2020.  This club consists of 20 young people, age 10-16, who are learning leadership skills and doing their own projects and fundraisers in the community as well as some in partnership with our adult club.

 Our projects have grown over the years and we finished funding a $70,000 inclusive playground at Hibou Conservation Area in spring, 2021.  We also  continue to support many other youth based causes in the community.  Donations are always welcome!  Anyone with a desire to support youth in our community, please contact us at owensoundjoi@gmail.com. 

What Optimist Clubs Do

Optimist Clubs are dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and do their part through community service programs. Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit. Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.
