Purpose
Optimist Clubs are dedicated to "bringing out the best in kids" and encouraging them to do their part through community service programs. Each club is autonomous and run by members in the community that have the flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they feel is right.

Proud yearly supporter of Empowerment Day, The Hub and HOBY.
SANTA CLAUS PARADE each December along with Lions, Kinsmen and Rotary.
Bicycle Rodeo in conjunction with our local OPP - open to kids up to age of 12 - free helmets provided by the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo Wellington.
Supporter of the Canadian Children's Optimist Foundation whose mission is to invest today for the future of our youth by seeking and managing funds through collaboration with Canadian Optimist Clubs and their communities, by supporting Clubs to create opportunities that will enhance quality of life, improve health and wellness and inspire our youth. Scholarships and grants our available through the foundation.
Donations to many sports teams, swim program, and individuals as well as bursarys, school trips, etc.
Donate to children with health needs and to Ronald McDonald House - Meals that Heal.
Donate our time and talents to a local Community Meals Program.
Fundraised to support Stait Park, Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation, CW Skate Park Elora, and programing for Elora Centre for the Arts.
We believe in the potential of today’s youth. Since 1987, HOBY Canada's mission has been to inspire and prepare future young leaders for a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation. HOBY empowers young people to dream big, make an impact, and change the world. We financially support one high school student each year to attend HOBY. Contact your guidence counselor if interested in a fun-filled weekend in Ridgetown.
