ADRIAN BUTUC Licensed Massage Therapist
I have been doing therapeutic massages for over 30 years, and I am still surprised of its benefits. I have found that the power of touch is one of the most effective healing forces. I graduated from National Academy of Physical Education, Romania, 1991. As a student, I learned about the culture of athletic training from my Eastern European professors and coaches, whose athletes had dominated the world's sports for decades. They all agreed that human performance comes not only from the physical training itself, but from physiological and psychological recovery as well. Besides hard work, rest, and good nutrition, the body needs certain therapeutic modalities that can bond them all. The concept brought together 4 main procedures: massage which is the stimulation of blood flow by passively rubbing and stroking the skin, joint mobilization which uses bone movement to treat joint dysfunction, electrophysical agents to transfer heat and energy to the tissue, and therapeutic exercise that uses the active movement of the musculoskeletal system to improve its range.
