This Omego Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how the developer of Omego ("we", "us", or "Omego Team") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Omego photo editing application ("App") and its related services (collectively, "Services"). By downloading, installing, or using the App and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Policy. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and complying with applicable U.S. privacy laws, including but not limited to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for users under 13 and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where applicable.
1. Key Privacy Commitments
To ensure transparency about our data practices, we first emphasize our core privacy commitments, which guide all information handling related to the App:
1.1 No Collection of User Uploaded Image Data: We do not collect, store, or process any photos, images, or other visual content that you upload, edit, or create using the App ("User Image Content"). All User Image Content remains exclusively on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it through third-party platforms (e.g., social media) via the App’s optional sharing features—and even then, we do not retain copies of such content.
1.2 No Sharing of Personal Information with Third Parties: We will never sell, rent, lease, or disclose your personal information or usage data to third parties for marketing, advertising, or other commercial purposes without your explicit prior written consent. Any limited sharing with third parties (as described in Section 4) is solely to enable the provision of the Services and is subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
1.3 Only Necessary Data Collection: We collect only the minimum amount of non-personal and usage-related data required to optimize the App’s performance, improve user experience, and maintain the functionality of core features. We do not collect unnecessary or sensitive information (e.g., location data, contact lists, or financial information) unless you voluntarily provide it for specific, disclosed purposes.
2. Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information: Non-Personal Usage Data (automatically collected when you use the App) and Voluntarily Provided Information (only if you choose to share it). We explicitly exclude User Image Content from all data collection.
2.1 Non-Personal Usage Data
This data is collected automatically to help us understand how the App is used, identify performance issues, and enhance features. It does not identify you personally and cannot be linked to your identity:
Device Metadata: Basic details about the device you use to access the App, such as device model (e.g., "iPhone 15"), operating system version (e.g., "iOS 18.1" or "Android 14"), and App version (e.g., "Omego v2.3.0"). This helps us ensure the App is compatible with different devices and resolve technical bugs.
Feature Usage Statistics: Anonymous data about how you interact with the App’s core features, such as:
Which filters you use most frequently (e.g., "retro filter" or "black-and-white filter");
The average time spent using editing tools (e.g., "5 minutes per session");
How often you access the personalized photo gallery or one-click shooting feature;
Occurrences of app crashes or errors (e.g., "filter application failed on Device X").
Performance Data: Information about the App’s performance on your device, such as loading times for filters, battery usage during editing sessions, and whether features operate as intended. This helps us optimize speed and reduce lag.
2.2 Voluntarily Provided Information
We only collect this information if you choose to provide it, and it is used solely for the purpose you specify:
Contact Information: If you reach out to our customer service team via email (989200omegoteamii@zohomail.com) with questions, feedback, or support requests, we may collect your email address to respond to your inquiry. We do not use this email address for marketing or add it to mailing lists without your consent.
Account Information: If you opt to create an optional Omego account (to sync preferences across devices, for example), you may provide a username and password. We store this information securely (using industry-standard encryption) but do not collect additional account-related data (e.g., full name or date of birth) unless you voluntarily provide it.
3. How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the collected information exclusively for the following purposes, all of which are directly related to improving the App and Services:
3.1 Optimize App Performance: We use device metadata and performance data to fix technical issues (e.g., resolving crashes on specific operating systems) and enhance the App’s speed and stability. For example, if data shows that the "sepia filter" causes lag on older Android devices, we can prioritize optimizing that feature for compatibility.
3.2 Improve User Experience: Feature usage statistics help us understand which tools are most valuable to users. For instance, if 70% of users frequently use the "one-click shooting" feature, we may invest in enhancing its functionality (e.g., adding a timer option). We may also use this data to refine the App’s interface (e.g., repositioning popular filters for easier access).
3.3 Respond to User Inquiries: If you provide contact information to reach customer service, we use it solely to address your request (e.g., helping you troubleshoot a filter issue or answer questions about the App). We retain this information only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, then delete it unless required by law to retain it.
3.4 Maintain Account Security (if applicable): If you create an Omego account, we use your username and encrypted password to authenticate your access and protect your account from unauthorized use. We do not use account information for any other purposes.
4. How We Protect Your Information
We implement industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical security measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of the information we collect:
4.1 Encryption: All voluntarily provided information (e.g., account passwords, customer service emails) is encrypted both in transit (when sent between your device and our servers) and at rest (when stored on our secure servers). We use TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest.
4.2 Limited Access: Only authorized Omego Team employees (e.g., developers, customer service representatives) who need access to the data to perform their job functions (e.g., fixing a bug or responding to a support request) are allowed to access it. All employees are required to sign confidentiality agreements and undergo privacy training.
4.3 Data Minimization: We retain Non-Personal Usage Data for a maximum of 12 months after collection, or until it is no longer needed to optimize the App (whichever comes first). Voluntarily Provided Information (e.g., customer service emails) is retained only for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, then permanently deleted.
4.4 Third-Party Service Provider Security: If we engage third-party service providers to assist with limited tasks (e.g., cloud hosting for usage data or email platforms for customer service), we only work with providers that meet strict privacy and security standards. These providers are prohibited from using the data for any purpose other than providing the requested service and are required to maintain the same level of security as we do.
5. When We May Disclose Information
As stated in our core privacy commitments, we do not share your information with third parties for commercial purposes. We may only disclose information in the following limited circumstances:
5.1 To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or government request (e.g., from a U.S. law enforcement agency). We will only disclose the minimum amount of information necessary to comply with the request and will notify you of the disclosure if permitted by law.
5.2 To Protect Rights or Safety: We may disclose information to protect the safety of you, other users, or the public, or to enforce our Omego User Agreement (e.g., investigating a violation of the Agreement, such as attempts to hack the App).
5.3 To Third-Party Service Providers (as Needed): We may share Non-Personal Usage Data with third-party service providers who assist us with specific tasks, such as:
Cloud storage providers (to store anonymous usage data securely);
Analytics tools (to aggregate and analyze feature usage statistics, e.g., "60% of users use the retro filter").
In all cases, these providers are contractually obligated to keep the data confidential, use it only to perform the requested service, and not share it with any other third parties.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Under applicable U.S. privacy laws, you have the following rights regarding the information we collect:
6.1 Right to Access: You may request access to any voluntarily provided information we hold about you (e.g., a copy of your customer service emails or account details). To make a request, contact us via the customer service email (989200omegoteamii@zohomail.com) with your name (if provided) and a description of the information you wish to access. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request.
6.2 Right to Correction: If the voluntarily provided information we hold about you is inaccurate (e.g., a misspelled email address), you may request to correct it. Submit your correction request via the customer service email, and we will update the information within 15 days of verifying your request.
6.3 Right to Deletion: You may request the deletion of any voluntarily provided information we hold about you (e.g., your customer service history or account data). We will delete the information within 30 days of your request, unless we are required by law to retain it (e.g., to comply with a court order).
6.4 Right to Opt Out of Optional Data Sharing: If you have previously consented to any limited data sharing (e.g., sharing account information to sync preferences), you may opt out at any time by contacting us via the customer service email. We will cease sharing the information within 10 days of your request.
7. Children’s Privacy
We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 13, you may only use the App with the express consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 without parental consent. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will immediately delete that information and notify the parent or guardian. Parents or guardians may contact us via the customer service email to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any information collected from their child.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, legal requirements, or the App’s features. When we make changes, we will:
Update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document;
Notify you via an in-app notification (when you next open the App) or via email (if you have provided an email address);
Post the revised Policy on the App’s official website (if applicable) and within the App’s "Privacy Policy" section.
Your continued use of the App and Services after the revised Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about our privacy practices.
