Why Silicon Valley?

Silicon Valley is the hub for the most cutting edge photonics startups and academic labs in the world, yet there is no solid photonics and optics organization to connect this unique community. We, the founding members of Optica Silicon Valley, feel this gap personally. We constitute different parts of the photonics community — startup founders, technical leaders in small and large corporations. And we're enthusiastic about working with students from local colleges and universities to help introduce them to the industry and to mentor these future professionals.
