Ervin Carlson

Ervin is the President of the Intertribal Buffalo Council (ITBC) and is from the Blackfeet Nation. At the IBMP meeting, he explained that the main goal of the ITBC was to have live bison transported out of Yellowstone to help start and maintain tribal herds while protecting the genetics of Yellowstone bison. Ervin explained to me that bison are important both spiritually and nutritionally to many Native Americans.
