Week 1- What is Climate Change?
Students will learn what climate change is and the effects it is having on our planet. Students will learn through doing hands-on crafts and activities, games, movies, books, and informational videos. Students can explore the activities in the categories listed below and enjoy learning about the topic of the week!
Introduction Question: What is climate change?
The Short Answer:
“Climate change describes a change in the average conditions — such as temperature and rainfall — in a region over a long period of time. NASA scientists have observed Earth’s surface is warming, and many of the warmest years on record have happened in the past 20 years.”

Endangered Species
Endangered Species
Students will learn about various endangered species and reasons why they are endangered. Students will also learn about animals here in Connecticut that are on the list of endangered species as well as ways to help protect them. Students will learn through doing hands-on crafts and activities, games, movies, books, and informational videos. Students can explore the activities in the categories listed below and enjoy learning about the topic of the week!
Introduction Question:
What does endangered species mean?
Answer: An endangered species is a species that is very likely to become extinct in the near future, either worldwide or in a particular political jurisdiction. Endangered species may be at risk due to factors such as habitat loss, poaching and invasive species.
