Abi Lan, co-founder of Opia, is a filmmaker, actor, photographer and all round creative. Through her studies at The BRIT School where she trained in theatre and film studies, she found her identity as a storyteller of powerful and current subject matters. After graduating from BRIT in 2024, she has now moved on to continue developing her craft in studying a BA in Film at the University of Westminster. So far she's been involved in multiple exciting opportunities including the Westminster Working Cultures International programme, which included travelling to Mumbai to celebrate Indian culture through photography. In addition to her studies, Abi runs her own business as a headshot photographer, supplying affordable headshots for actors. She has also collaborated with the BRIT School to take photos of their graduating classes, providing professional images for students to launch their careers with. Abi's favourite film is Interstellar (2014), directed by Christopher Nolan. 

Spike Wildman completes the Opia team as co-founder of the production company. He is an actor, writer and director, and has trained with The National Youth Theatre as well as attending The BRIT School, studying theatre and English literature. Here, he developed a passion for creating work fuelled by current political issues and the influence of the arts within society. Since September, Spike has started an apprenticeship at BBC News, joining a team of journalism researchers to assist in the production of the live news channel. He's worked on large scale news stories including the coverage of the ever changing war in the Middle East, the major natural disasters across the globe, and the 2024 US Election which reached almost 4 million live watchers in the UK. Spike's favourite film is Roma (2018), directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
