Collaborations with the North Slave Métis Alliance (NSMA) have opened opportunities for conducting fieldwork along the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road. This 400-kilometer road traverses the winter range of three iconic caribou herds: the Bluenose-East, the Bathurst, and the Beverly herds. NSMA has launched a Guardianship program, where NSMA members regularly patrol the road to monitor wildlife between January and March each year.

Collaborations with the Government of Yukon to study the movements and distribution of the Porcupine Caribou Herd have led to several community workshops with Indigenous Communities that rely on this herd. These workshops aim to share the latest research findings and gather crucial observations from community members to guide future research efforts.
